Kevin Riley Kevin Riley 6’0″ | 190 lbs | RB Tuscaloosa County | 2024 State AL has been phenomenal the last few seasons for Tuscaloosa County, his abilities out of the backfield have made him one of the best running backs in the state and nation. Riley has a lot of quickness that allows him to make sharp cuts and evade tackles with ease, making him a really tough player to contain. In addition to that, he has some serious breakaway speed, all throughout last fall Riley showed that he can turn what looks to be a small gain into a long touchdown run in an instant. Riley’s impressive talents have not gone unnoticed, as he has garnered attention from prestigious college football programs such as Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia, among others.
Derrick Butler Derrick Butler 6’0″ | 190 lbs | RB Davidson | 2024 State AL is an exceptional running back that possesses an impressive set of skills that have made him a really valuable asset to Davidson. Butler had a huge year last fall that has opened up his recruitment a ton, on the season Butler posted 1338 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns off of just 184 carries, with an additional 115 yards and two touchdowns through the air as well. Butler has a ton of skill- he has some exceptional contact balance that allows him to maintain his footing and break through tackles easily, making him a tough player to bring down. Butler also has great vision that enables him to spot openings in the defense and exploit them effectively, maximizing yardage on each play. Paired with that- his acceleration enables him to burst through gaps and reach top speed quickly, leaving defenders in his wake. Overall, Butler is a super talented player, and teams have noticed. Blaine Burke Blaine Burke 5’9″ | 180 lbs | RB Moody | 2024 State AL is an really impressive running back that has done a ton offensively for Moody lined up in the backfield and outside wide as a receiving option. Last fall was Burke’s best year yet- he ended up posting 1605 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns off of just 162 carries. Burke has a lot of really elusive moves that make it super challenging for opposing players to bring him down, and he feeds off that by consistently creating huge plays on the ground for his offense. Additionally, Burke’s versatility extends beyond running the ball as he has a great understanding of route running and has excelled in the passing game for Moody. His reliable hands and receiving skills make him a valuable asset in catching passes out of the backfield or lining up as a receiver, giving him a really good multidimensional skillset, making him a valuable player capable of impacting both the running and passing attacks. Zackariah Simmons Zackariah Simmons 5’10” | 170 lbs | RB Central | 2024 State AL is a powerful and hard-hitting running back that has done great things in Central’s stacked offense the last few seasons. Simmons is as reliable as it gets- he has a dominant skill set that makes him a problem for opposing defenses to stop. Simmons has a rare combination of strength, toughness, and physicality that isn’t found in the game as much today. On tape, Simmons consistently breaks through tackles to gain yards that not every running back can gain making him a huge chore to stop. In addition to that, his speed adds another big advantage to his game and allows him to outrun defenders and to make explosive plays all four quarters.
