2025 5’9 150 DB – Drevaun Chase – Rock Creek Christian Academy
Drevaun Chase and the Eagles competed against elite competition all season long, and, as is evident by their 6-3 record, they thrived in it. Chase played particularly well in a victory against St. Mary’s Ryken, and he demonstrated his next level ability at the defensive back position. Drevaun Chase is probably the best tackler in the Rock Creek secondary, and his highlight reel most certainly supports that claim. I believe strongly that Rock Creek Christian Academy will finish above a .500% winning percentage in 2023, and I also believe that Drevaun Chase’s defensive prowess will have a lot to do with that effort.

2025 6’0 175 DB – Jackson Small Jackson Small 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Rock Creek Christian | 2025 State MD – Rock Creek Christian Academy
The Rock Creek Christian Eagles were very good at stopping the pass last season, and a lot of the credit for that belongs to defensive back Jackson Small Jackson Small 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Rock Creek Christian | 2025 State MD . Small is a master deflector, and he always seems to get his hands on the ball no matter what. He was an absolute nightmare for opposing quarterbacks throughout 2022, and I see him being the same force yet again in 2023. Rock Creek has a ton of talent in their secondary, and I believe that the tandem of Jackson Small Jackson Small 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Rock Creek Christian | 2025 State MD and Drevaun Chase will be too much for their competition to handle.

2025 6’0 175 DB – Elijah Williams – Warhill High School
If you’re looking for a phenomenal overall defensive player with incredible instincts for the game then look no further than Elijah Williams. Williams showcased his spectacular anticipation skill last season with Tabb, and he seemed to stop plays before they even occurred. There’s a sense of awareness that he possesses on the football field that just completely separates him from the rest. He already has an official D1 power five conference offer from Arkansas, and he also has a lot of interest from a few DMV powerhouses such as Virginia Tech and Maryland. Scouts must know the name Elijah Williams.

2025 5’10 180 DB – Kwalei Carter Kwalei Carter 5'9" | 185 lbs | ATH Virginia Academy | 2026 VA – Patrick Henry High School
As he also handles kick and punt return duties, Kwalei Carter Kwalei Carter 5'9" | 185 lbs | ATH Virginia Academy | 2026 VA is arguably the most dynamic defensive back on this list. He even takes snaps at wide receiver, and I believe this has a lot to do with his next level skill as a DB. When you see a player thrive at multiple positions on both sides of the ball like Kwalei Carter Kwalei Carter 5'9" | 185 lbs | ATH Virginia Academy | 2026 VA , you can’t help but wonder-what will he do at the next level? I believe that it’s simple, Kwalei Carter Kwalei Carter 5'9" | 185 lbs | ATH Virginia Academy | 2026 VA will do great things at the D1 level, and I believe scouts everywhere must take a keen interest in his game. In my opinion, Kwalei Carter Kwalei Carter 5'9" | 185 lbs | ATH Virginia Academy | 2026 VA is the top recruit at Patrick Henry.

2025 5’9 145 DB – Jachaisax Hughes Jachaisax Hughes 5'8" | 145 lbs | DB Freedom | 2025 VA – Freedom High School
The Freedom Eagles finished their season 6-0 in their conference and 15-0 overall. Jachaisax Hughes Jachaisax Hughes 5'8" | 145 lbs | DB Freedom | 2025 VA was all over the field making plays for the Eagles throughout the season, and his immaculate effort at multiple positions was crucial to Freedom’s unbeaten streak in 2022. Hughes ran for multiple touchdowns on the year as a running back, but I believe his true calling is as a defensive back. He was lockdown each and every time he lined up in the defensive secondary, and I truly believe that Jachaisax Hughes Jachaisax Hughes 5'8" | 145 lbs | DB Freedom | 2025 VA should be drawing D1 interest at DB. Freedom has a great chance of continuing their dominant win streak with Jachaisax Hughes Jachaisax Hughes 5'8" | 145 lbs | DB Freedom | 2025 VA on their roster.
