Shadow Creek’s Maurice Williams Maurice Williams 6'1" | 185 lbs | DB Shadow Creek | 2024 State TX looks like a 4-3 linebacker playing safety. He possesses the bulk and speed to wreak havoc on unassuming receivers and ball carriers. Williams stalks the secondary craving contact with his signature calf sleeve on his right leg and three-quarter sleeve on his left arm. This kid has an engine that stays revved up! Look for him to work his way up in the rankings next season with his intimidating style of play.
Class of 2024 | 5’11″180 lbs | ATH | Carthage | Carthage, TX
Aeryn Hampton Aeryn Hampton 5'11" | 185 lbs | ATH Daingerfield | 2024 State TX of Carthage appears at times to be playing with the competition. He projects to be a slot receiver at the next level but due to his caveat of skills, he could wind up on the opposite side of the ball. His sure hands as a receiver and affection for the flare make him a great option as a safety in the future as well. Hampton is slippery and hiccup quick in the screen game as his tape shows the magnitude of his elusiveness. Watch the stat book next season for all-purpose yardage and TDs from this kid…
CORNERBACK •6’4″ | 170 LBS / CLASS OF 2024 @ LAKE BELTON | TEMPLE, TX
What can you do with a 6’4 cornerback? The answer is NOTHING! At least that’s what can be said when it comes to Lake Belton’s star player Selman Bridges Selman Bridges 6'3" | 170 lbs | DB Lake Belton | 2024 State TX . There’s not much a receiver can do with that type of length and patience for positional technique. The only way it seems to beat this kid is with amazing speed but even when behind by a step or two his wingspan makes up the difference. He is sudden when driving on balls and has a knack for the 50/50 high point. If he adds weight, look for Bridges to transition to playing both safety and cornerback in the form of a young Antonio Cromartie.
ZION KEARNEY
WIDE RECEIVER •6’3″ | 190 LBS / CLASS OF 2024 @ HIGHTOWER | MISSOURI CITY, TX
Zion Kerney is a powerfully built possession receiver standing at 6’3 and weighing 190 pounds. He is a precise route runner who knows how to get small and hide his big frame while finding the soft windows in zone coverages. It normally will take multiple defenders to bring him down after the catch. Texas A&M seems to be a suitable landing spot for the mammoth of a target. It would be interesting to see a matchup of the twin towers between the previously named Selman Bridges Selman Bridges 6'3" | 170 lbs | DB Lake Belton | 2024 State TX (6’4 cornerback) and Zion. Perhaps we will get that matchup on the next level. Stay tuned.
