Over here at PrepRedzone Mississippi, we like to have fun on this day every year by taking the draft order and needs and imagining that the class was just filled with rising senior prospects from the state. This is what we think this year’s draft would look like with the class of 2024 in mind.
#1 – Carolina Panthers
The Pick: QB Anthony Maddox Anthony Maddox 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Oak Grove | 2024 State MS / Oak Grove
Carolina traded up in this year’s draft with one thing in mind: get the QB. They do so here by taking Oak Grove’s Anthony Maddox Anthony Maddox 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Oak Grove | 2024 State MS , an accurate passer with a big arm.
#2 – Houston Texans
The Pick: DL Kamarion Franklin Kamarion Franklin 6'6" | 255 lbs | DL Lake Cormorant | 2024 State MS / Lake Cormorant
With recent reports in mind, Houston is seemingly trending to not be taking a quarterback this year at #2. Instead, they will have their eyes on one of the best defensive players in the class. #3 – Arizona Cardinals

#4 – Indianapolis Colts

#5 – Seattle Seahawks
The Pick: DL Terrance Hibbler Terrance Hibbler 6'3" | 305 lbs | DL Holmes County Central | 2024 State MS / Holmes County
Seattle improved greatly in last years draft, but will look to build the trenches of the defense this year. Terrance Hibbler Terrance Hibbler 6'3" | 305 lbs | DL Holmes County Central | 2024 State MS is a massive interior presence that can do just that.
#6 – Detroit Lions
The Pick: DB PJ Woodland PJ Woodland 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Oak Grove | 2024 State MS / Oak Grove
After trading former first round pick Jeff Okudah to the Falcons, the Lions have a huge hole at defensive back. Acquiring PJ Woodland PJ Woodland 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Oak Grove | 2024 State MS fixes that problem with ease.
#7 – Las Vegas Raiders
The Pick: DB Niquis Ratcliff Niquis Ratcliff 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Picayune | 2024 State MS / Picayune
A quarterback could be in play here, but the Raiders’ secondary has struggled in a big way the last few seasons. Cornerback Niquis Ratcliff Niquis Ratcliff 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Picayune | 2024 State MS can start to shift the culture in that room and lock down a side of the field.
#8 – Atlanta Falcons

#9 – Chicago Bears
The Pick: OL Isaiah Autry Isaiah Autry 6'6" | 280 lbs | OL Itawamba Agricultural | 2024 State MS / Itawamba
The Bears are building around QB Justin Fields. The best way to instill confidence in a young QB is great offensive line play. Isaiah Autry Isaiah Autry 6'6" | 280 lbs | OL Itawamba Agricultural | 2024 State MS provides just that.
#10 – Philadelphia Eagles

#11 – Tennessee Titans

With QB Ryan Tannehill on the last year of his contract, the Titans are looking at options to get younger at the position. John White John White 6'0" | 200 lbs | QB Madison Ridgeland Academy | 2024 State MS is one of the most accurate passers in the class, making him hard to pass on for Tennessee.
#12 – Houston Texans

#13 – Green Bay Packers

#14 – New England Patriots

#16 – Washington Commanders
The Pick: DB Javontae Mosley Javontae Mosley 6'3" | 160 lbs | DB Callaway | 2024 State MS / Callaway
The Commanders defensive backs were well coached, but lacking of a serious playmaker last season. The tall and long Javontae Mosley Javontae Mosley 6'3" | 160 lbs | DB Callaway | 2024 State MS can come in and lock up WR1s for the team.
#17 – Pittsburgh Steelers

#19 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tom Brady Era is over in Tampa Bay, so the Buccaneers will be rebuilding the trenches first. Kobe Williams Kobe Williams 6'6" | 300 lbs | OL Amory | 2024 State MS is a big time tackle that can fit right in.
#20 – Seattle Seahawks

#23 – Minnesota Vikings
The Pick: LB Tristan Jernigan / Tupelo
Teams were running all over the Vikings last year. Tristan Jernigan provides a strong presence in the middle that is capable of playing on all 3 downs.
#24 – Jacksonville Jaguars
The Pick: DB Patrick Broomfield / Clarksdale
The Jacksonville Jaguars haven’t had a shut down corner since Jalen Ramsey was there. Patrick Broomfield is a long and physical corner that plays well in man to man coverage.
#25 – New York Giants

The Giants are looking to add a playmaker at wide out for Daniel Jones to throw to and SanFrisco Magee SanFrisco Magee 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH McComb | 2024 State MS is just that.
#26 – Dallas Cowboys
The Pick: TE Jack Harper Jack Harper 6'4" | 230 lbs | TE Oxford | 2024 State MS / Oxford
After losing TE Dalton Shultz, the Cowboys have a huge hole at the position. Dad Prescott loves throwing to his TEs and will appreciate having an athletic and long player like Harper out there.
#27 – Buffalo Bills

#29 – New Orleans Saints

With a talent like Trace Carter Trace Carter 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB Ocean Springs | 2024 State MS left on the board, it is hard for the Saints to not pair up Demario Davis with a fellow Mississippi product.
#30 – Philadelphia Eagles

Losing Miles Sanders and his rushing production in free agency, the Eagles are in need of finding a back that can be a workhorse between the tackles. Blount is the talent that can carry the ball 20+ times a game.
#31 – Kansas City Chiefs

The Super Bowl champions do not have a lot of holes in their roster, but are always looking to surround Patrick Mahomes with talented wide outs. Marlin Odom Marlin Odom 6'1" | 160 lbs | WR George County | 2024 State MS can come in and be another speedster that the Chiefs love having around.
