Who are they? Let’s take a look…
BJ Gibson BJ Gibson 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Wilcox County | 2024 State GA – Wilcox County
The Florida State Seminoles are one of the hottest programs on the recruiting trail right now, and they recently landed a commitment from dual-sport standout BJ Gibson BJ Gibson 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Wilcox County | 2024 State GA , one of the top overall wide receivers in South Georgia and across the state for the 2024 class. A big-time baseball player, Gibson is a natural athlete with good size and ball skills. He’s a vertical threat down the field with good straight-line speed at 6-foot-0 170-pounds, Gibson creates separation with ease and is really quick in and out of his breaks. He’s a natural runner with a knack for getting behind defenses. He’s a playmaker on special teams with the ability to take back punts and kickoffs back for a big gain. He’s a true weapon whenever he’s on the field, and he’ll give the Seminoles a big-time playmaker on the outside as a receiver.
Landen Thomas Landen Thomas 6'4" | 210 lbs | TE Colquitt County | 2024 State GA – TE – Colquitt County
A 5-star prospect and the No. 1 TE prospect across the country in the 2024 class, Thomas is a major pass-catcher for a Colquitt County program that is one of the state’s best in the 7A classification. Thomas has been committed to the in-state Georgia Bulldogs for several months dating back to last summer, but after multiple recent visits to FSU, the South Georgia tight end decided to flip his commitment to Florida State. Thomas caught only 31 passes so fall, but they’ve gone for 516 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s also an impact blocker on the edge and will continue to add more weight and muscle over the next few years, helping him build more strength to go along with his ability to catch passes. This was a major recruiting win for the Seminoles who go into Georgia and flip a major prospect away from the two-time national champions.
Hunter Teal Hunter Teal 6'2" | 220 lbs | TE Walton | 2024 State GA – Walton
Another one of the top tight end prospects in Georgia is off the board. One of the most productive tight ends not only in 7A, but across the state in the 2024 class, Teal is a playmaking tight end for a powerful Walton program who really shined in an effective Walton Raider offense last year. A tough, gritty tight end at 6-foot-2 220-pounds who knows how to block, Teal made his commitment this week to Miami (OH). His style of play fits right into what the Redhawks are looking for, and has a chance to bring a pass-catching presence to the offense the day he gets to campus. He brings impressive ball skills and the ability to make plays deep down the field. He’s a big play waiting to happen and bound for a monster season for the Raiders who are hoping to make a run at the 7A title in 2023.
Dakarai Anderson Dakarai Anderson 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR Perry | 2024 State GA – Perry
One of the top overall receivers in Middle Georgia, Anderson is a quick, shifty, explosive wideout who brings plenty of game-changing ability to the receiver position. After earning offers from Buffalo, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, among others, the Perry playmaker decided to make his commitment to the Bearcats of Cincinnati. He may not be big, but he’s agile, great after the catch, and showed dependable hands last year as a junior, catching 66 passes for 1,096 yards and an impressive 11 touchdowns. He recorded at least 115 receiving yards in five game last year, showing the ability to take games over as a receiver. He caught at least six passes in six games, proving to be one of the more productive and consistent wideouts in the area. Look for the Middle Georgia receiver to make an early impact with the Bearcats in 2024.
