DORCHESTER | The offers keep coming in for Bamberg-Ehrhardt quarterback Chanston Crosby Chanston Crosby 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Bamberg-Ehrhardt | 2025 State SC .
At 6-foot-1, 172 pounds and possessing a 78-inch wingspan, the 2025 Red Raider has the look, build and passing touch of a future college level quarterback. Georgia Southern and South Carolina State increased his list of highly interested schools to four.
The number could increase after Crosby (pictured) won honors for Top Offensive Skill at the Palmetto Combine South underclassmen event Saturday afternoon at Woodland High School.
“It was humbling for me,” Crosby said. “It was something I worked for and put work in ahead of time and I wanted to thank the coaches for nominating me to get it.”
Along with his passing amid the heavily windy conditions, Crosby held his own in the individual drills. He had a time of 4.9 seconds in the pro shuffle and a broad jump of 8 feet 2 inches.
This was the second year of the event, which drew 139 participants in the afternoon session alone (for underclassmen). Along with increased numbers, event organizer Neal Smith said the talent level was “way up”.
“I was more impressed with the underclassmen. Even the sophomores, I thought, were really impressive this go round,” he said. “I think the future is very bright for South Carolina if we have players like that coming up.”
