Junior Jayden DelTorchio Provides Recruiting/Visit Insight, Q&A
As the rank suggests, I think very highly of the soon-to-be senior ATH/LB Jayden Deltorchio Jayden Deltorchio 6’5″ | 220 lbs | ATH Pingree | 2024 State New E out of Pingree HS. A top 30 rank for a prospect without an offer. DelTorchio is in the mix with some real FBS-level talent, yet his recruitment hasn’t lined up with my personal grade thus far. Checking in with JDT, I’m still pleased to hear and learn about some of the interests his tape has earned him. The Q&A interview below will dive into DelTorchio’s latest visits to Holy Cross, Bryant, UMass as well as New Hampshire. Interest from these local Division One programs is a plus no matter how you spin it.
DelTorchio lands and ranks as an ATH, a designation that is usually left to the WR/DB two-way prospects. JDT is a bit of a different case, with the young man equally impressing at OLB and TE. We dive into that discussion a bit further below. Take a look at his Hudl while you’re here.
Highlights
Question One
Where are most of these schools recruiting you to play? I rave about your abilities on both sides of the ball, many are interested where college coaches see you potentially playing for them?
Most schools are recruiting me as a LB and almost an equal amount have been following my recruitment with me listed as a TE. I personally consider myself an ATH.
Question Two
How was the UMass visit? Give us a quick recap of the day in Amherst.
UMass was an experience my Mother and I both fully enjoyed. Every player was going 120% every rep during the practice. Don Brown, Coach RoPo, and Coach Brower really made it feel like a program that would accept me as a player and a person. I got nothing short but respect for them and the rest of the team.
Question Three
What facility or facilities wowed you the most? Which ones left a lasting impression?
Out of all the facilities Holy Cross got it for sure. Everything there has just been built and they don’t plan on slowing down. UMass is a close second for sure. I’d say the Minutemen have the best stadium out of those schools. The whole campus is gorgeous, felt nice walking around a place close to home with my Mom. Bryant has one of the nicest indoor practice facilities around, I was ready to get dressed for a game when I was visiting them. They have a new stadium on the way too, very excited to go back for another visit.
Question Four
Which programs are in frequent contact with you? Who is touching base most often?
The schools that have stayed in touch with me recently are always changing. I feel very close with all the members of the New Hampshire staff. They’ve been showing love for a while now. It’s mostly been the same coaches but some have been going to different schools. A solid list I’d say is Boston College, UMass, Bryant, Holy Cross, Stony Brook, UConn, New Hampshire, Columbia, etc.
Question Five
What’s next?
What’s next for me is to grind out this summer along with summer camps with my teammates, maybe a few more visits, and leave it all out on the field for Senior season. Walk away with another chip or it was all for nothing. One goal in mind.
