Trey Townsend Trey Townsend 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Calhoun | 2024 State GA – Calhoun
One of the more underrated quarterbacks in North Georgia right now, the Calhoun standout is coming off a big 202 season as a junior where he led the powerful Calhoun Yellow Jackets to an impressive 9-4 season. The Calhoun star has a good frame at 6-foot-2 who knows how to put great touch on the ball. He throws a beautiful deep ball down the field and has enough touch to put the ball over the linebackers and underneath thee secondary. He shows great footwork, pocket presence, and the ability to throw the ball accurately. He has the tools and experience to have a gigantic senior season with plenty of weapons around him. With Townsend at the helm, look for Calhoun to make another deep playoff run in 2023.
Landon Walker – Alpharetta
The Alpharetta Raiders are on the rise, and although they’ll be without Ben Guthrie Ben Guthrie 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Alpharetta | 2023 State GA at quarterback next year, they have an incredibly impressive quarterback waiting in the wings in dual-sport star, Landon Walker. An athletic dual-threat quarterback with impressive arm talent, Walker is a big-time baseball player who brings plenty of athleticism to the quarterback position. But of course, he’s more than an athlete. Walker has big-time arm talent who can throw ropes all over the field. He knows how to push the ball down the field, but he can also fire it into some tight windows as well. He performed well in a backup role last season, throwing for 201 yards and 4 touchdowns. He’s the next-man up at Alpharetta, and due to his arm talent, mobility, and overall athleticism, Walker is bound for a gigantic junior season next fall.
Garrison Cantrell Garrison Cantrell 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB Dacula | 2026 GA – Dacula
It may not have been a great year overall for Dacula last year, but it’s clear they have a promising quarterback on the roster who is ready to make a big name for himself next season as a sophomore. He may not bee the biggest quarterback at 6-foot-0 170-pounds, but he has the frame to continue putting on good muscle. He has a natural feel for the position and has a live arm for someone his age. Of course, his arm will only get stronger and stronger over the next several years. He sees the field well, understands his job, and does a great job of staying active in the pocket while keeping his eyes down the field. He’s coming off a strong season for a freshman, and should continue to develop and perfect his craft. His best football is still way ahead of him, but he has a chance to have a big second season in 2023 if he continues to work hard and improve more and more this off-season.
Christian Langford Christian Langford 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Langston Hughes | 2025 State GA – East Coweta
He may still be under the radar, but it shouldn’t be for much longer. Another strong dual-threat in the 2025 class, Langford is still developing from a passing standpoint, but his raw arm talent and mobility is easy to see. The talent and potential is there for him to have a big junior season next fall for a strong East Coweta team. As a sophomore last season, Langford threw for over 2,000 yards and 28 touchdowns, but the INT rate has to go down. The more he plays, the better he’ll be. At 6-foot-2 190-pounds, Langford has plenty of size and all the tools necessary to play at the next level. He showed the ability to take over games with both his arm and his feet, and he did that against Hillgrove last year, throwing for 357 yards and 6 touchdowns in a big victory. Look for him to have more of those types of games next year as a junior.
