Prep Redzone Louisiana has already started making some rounds, but won’t be able to catch everyone.
We’ll start over the next few days by pointing out and highlighting five players from each area we’d like to see — with priority given to rising upperclassmen and for prospects we’d be seeing for the first time, the first time in an extended stretch or the first time since some notable development.
And a series will begin next week highlighting six or more student-athletes from each school visited with a mix of returning veterans, breakout candidates and underclassmen to know for years to come.
Josiah Bushnell Josiah Bushnell 5'11" | 175 lbs | ATH Iowa | 2024 State LA — 5-11, 175 QB — Lake Charles College Prep (2024)
The Blazers have a few Division-I prospects in their rising senior class, but Prep Redzone Louisiana hasn’t had the chance to see as much of the standout quarterback, who recently picked up an Air Force offer, as receiver/athlete Elijah Garrick Elijah Garrick 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Lake Charles College Prep | 2024 State LA and safety Erick Franklin Jr. Erick Franklin Jr. 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB Lake Charles College Prep | 2024 State LA
John David LaFleur John David LaFleur 6'6" | 240 lbs | TE Sulphur | 2025 State LA — 6-6, 240 TE — Sulphur (2025)
One of early standouts of Louisiana’s 2025 class with his big frame and big pedigree, the son of former LSU and Dallas Cowboys tight end David LaFleur is one of a handful of intriguing young prospects at the position coming through the state right now.
Damian Reed Damian Reed 6'2" | 270 lbs | OL Iowa | 2024 State LA — 6-2, 270 OL — Iowa (2024)
The big blocker nicknamed “Pancake” has garnered some strong recruiting momentum, particularly around Louisiana, and looks on film to be a notable FBS-level prospect to know in another respectable offensive line class in a state enjoying a nice run in the position group.
Kenias St. Romain — 6-2, 210 LB — DeRidder (2024)
St. Romain hit Prep Redzone Louisiana’s radar this spring on the heels of a productive, all-district junior campaign covering a lot of ground and racking up a lot of tackles. He’s started to garner some recruiting attention with Wright State and Lamar offers and may be a notable sleeper to watch entering this spring and summer.
Rejohn Zeno Rejohn Zeno 5'10" | 170 lbs | RB Jennings | 2025 State LA — 5-10, 170 RB — Jennings (2025)
An intriguing young running back standout from a high school program with some notable track record at the position. Zeno garnered a lot of early praise following the footsteps of the Etienne brothers, Travis and Trevor, and is a notable member of Louisiana’s standout 2025 cohort at the position to keep up with, but one Prep Redzone Louisiana hasn’t seen as much of as some of their peers.
