Emilio Mendez
One of the most exciting players returning from Ivy Red in 2023, Emilio Mendez really helped bring some attention to Dover, New Jersey. As a sophomore, Emilio reeled in 7 receiving touchdowns and 525 yards as one of the leading receivers in the division. This man is quick. He has exceptional linear speed, torching corners at the line if he catches them with their feet stuck to the ground. The majority of his big plays came from flying by the corner on a go route and ending up in the end zone. With great hand eye coordination and clean routing running to complement his speed, Emilio is destined to dominate this division for the next two seasons.
Anthony Trongone
Anthony Trongone
While Emilio Mendez is on the receiving end of an impressive pass attack, Anthony Trongone is the one initiating it. In 2022 Anthony earned 2nd team all division as a QB, but don’t be surprised if he makes a push for first in 2023. Here we have a player that makes tossing the long ball look easy. He had a great crew of receivers in 2022 to help make throws easy, but he was just as good at throwing when under pressure or when throwing on the run. When it comes to designed runs or scrambles, Anthony was able to turn on the jets and out run the defenders. Anthony has a a very high ceiling, and I am very confident he and Emilio will lead Dover to a very successful 2023 campaign.
Anthony Franchina

Anthony Franchina earned 1st team all division for Indian Hills as a linebacker in 2022. Bringing in 65 tackles in 2022 and 2 for a loss, Anthony helped Indian Hills as one of the centerpieces to their defense. While Indian Hills struggled for parts of the season, we should see them rebound in 2023 with Anthony guiding the defense with another excellent performance.
Vance Mixon
Vance Mixon
An athlete at the QB position, Teaneck’s Vance Mixon played multiple roles as an elusive playmaker. Tossing for 4 touchdowns and running in another 6, Vance was difficult to contain on both fronts. He is most dangerous with the ball in his hands and on the run, but he’s able to sling the rock when needed. A successful thrower, he was able to evade the rush and find his open receivers. And when Vance took off with it, he had quick acceleration through the hole. The future is bright for Vance. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if he made the transition to RB or WR at the next level.

Jordan Morrell Jordan Morrell 6’0″ | 180 lbs | LB Pascack Hills | 2024 NJ is the final player added to this list, and another player that was able play very well on both sides of the ball. Jordan lined up as a RB and LB in 2022 for Pascack Hills. Getting the all division nod for his defensive play, Jordan commanded the middle of the field and delivered big hits to his opponents. A true playmaker on D, he was very reliable in the run game as he stuffed the hole again and again.
On offense, Jordan delivered punishing hits there as well as a big bodied ball carrier. Another player that was quick once they turned up field, Jordan was able to make his way through a crowd and emerge into open space. Another team and player too keep an eye on in 2023, be on the lookout for Jordan’s name.
