Prep Redzone Louisiana has already started making some rounds, but won’t be able to catch everyone.
We’ll start over the next few days by pointing out and highlighting five players from each area we’d like to see — with priority given to rising upperclassmen and for prospects we’d be seeing for the first time, the first time in an extended stretch or the first time since some notable development.
And a series will begin this week highlighting six or more student-athletes from each school visited with a mix of returning veterans, breakout candidates and underclassmen to know for years to come.
JADEN CARTER JADEN CARTER 5'9" | 175 lbs | WR Covenant Christian | 2026 State LA — 5-9, 165 ATH — A.J. Ellender (2026)
The Bayou Parishes speedster had earned recognition on early Prep Redzone Louisiana watchlists for the 2026 class, but really cemented himself as a major prospect to watch this spring when he wrapped up an all-state caliber basketball season and then had a chance to release an intriguing football highlight reel. Carter is a name fans and college coaches should know sooner than later.
Jackson Fields Jackson Fields 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Destrehan | 2026 State LA — 6-2, 185 QB — Destrehan (2026)
Prep Redzone Louisiana had a chance to see a bit of the young Destrehan passer on the 7-on-7 circuit — and Fields impressed there — but he’ll be one of the most interesting rising sophomores in the state to watch this year as the Wildcats’ championship-winning quarterback Jai Eugene Jr. Jai Eugene Jr. 6'1" | 175 lbs | ATH Destrehan | 2023 State LA heads to the Tulane secondary and the program reloads with impressive talent in every cycle.
Jarmaine Mitchell Jarmaine Mitchell 6'8" | 310 lbs | OL St. James | 2024 State LA — 6-8, 310 OL — St. James (2024)
Quarterback Brayden Williams Brayden Williams 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB St. James | 2024 State LA and several of the Wildcats’ skill guys have been active on the 7-on-7 circuit throughout the spring, so getting another look — the first in about seven months — at the big offensive lineman ranked in the top 100 of the class gets the headline nod on an always-worthwhile trip to Beautiful Downtown Vacherie.
Reshad Sterling Reshad Sterling 6'3" | 235 lbs | DL Lutcher | 2025 State LA — 6-2, 235 DL — Lutcher (2025)
Sterling showed some flashes as both a defensive end and an offensive lineman as a sophomore that earned him a debut at No. 33 in the latest Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings for his class. Getting a chance to watch him more closely and see how his offseason work has been going thus far would make for a notable stop for 2025 evaluations.
Tyron Winslow Tyron Winslow 6'4" | 275 lbs | DL H.L. Bourgeois | 2025 State LA — 6-5, 265 DL — H.L. Bourgeois (2025)
Based on film, measurable and coaches’ assessments, Winslow looks and sounds like he has a chance to transition this year from an intriguing, but under-the-radar prospect to one of the top names to know in the state’s 2025 class. Winslow has garnered praise for his focus and commitment to his offseason work from the winter on and is one of the bigger priorities on Prep Redzone Louisiana’s visits agenda this spring before hitting college camps this summer.
