The state’s sack leader gave opposing offensive linemen sleepless nights as they tried and failed to keep him in check. Freeman does a great job converting speed to power. He explodes off the snap with a quick first step that allows him to beat offensive tackles out of their stances. Freeman does a good job getting into offensive lineman’s chests to push them back into quarterback’s laps and hit them with a devastating dip and rip move. He has an elite bend and is a stout run defender. Freeman could repeat as the state’s sack leader in 2023.

Fonohema sets the tone every time he touches the turf. From the first to the last snap, he brings physicality and great effort to the Red Devils front four. He fires off the snap and gets his hands inside offensive linemen to stand them up or toss them aside. Fonohema can go through or around offensive linemen when rushing the quarterback. He does a good job engaging and disengaging when battling with blockers. Fonohema quickly recognizes and reacts to what an offense is trying to do. He’s a strong tackler in space and can create turnovers.

Speredon can win inside or out with speed and strength. He fires off the snap low and does a good job gaining and maintaining leverage during the duration of a play. Speredon is a physical run defender who takes out ball carriers at a high rate. He’s a strong tackler who doesn’t let running backs escape his grasp. Speredon has an exceptional swim move he uses to break into the backfield off the edge. He has a good bend and a relentless motor. Speredon is a stout run defender who does a good job taking out pullers and setting the edge.

Kofe thrives off creating interior pressure with his explosiveness and quick hands. He fires off the snap with intensity and doesn’t back down from a challenge, no matter the size of the offensive lineman or the down and distance. Kofe does a great job taking on double teams and can split them to make plays in the backfield. He uses his hands exceptionally well and can collapse the pocket at a high rate because of it. Kofe plays both ways for the Pirates and gives it his all every rep he takes. Offenses will be game planning to stop him all week, gearing up for Friday night.

Roberts is an exceptional athlete. He can fly to the ball to make chase-down tackles from behind and always flies to the football. Roberts tackles well in space, and he can quickly change direction to make plays on the opposite side of the field. He’s quick on the snap and does a good job holding down his gap. Roberts can play anywhere along the front seven and can take on offensive linemen to free up his teammates to make plays. He sets the tone up front with his physicality and brings it all four quarters. The Panthers are getting an impact player and leader in Roberts.

Kinikini does an excellent job gaining leverage on offensive linemen and uses it to make plays on the interior. He explodes off the snap and keeps a low pad level. Kinikini does a great job taking on and squeezing past double teams to make plays or free up his linebackers to do so. When left one-on-one, he can drive offensive linemen into the quarterback’s lap and has a great motor. Kinikini does a good job reading and reacting to what is happening during a play. When teams try to run the middle, he can toss the center and guards aside to make a big play for his team.
