Coach Matt Parzero is looking forward to working with his team to start another victorious season starting now! Below are a few players to watch this upcoming season.
The main principles Coach Matt Parzero prides his team on are Pride, Unity, and Toughness. These ideals create a team who always fight for each other and honor wearing the Braves logo across their helmet.
Over the past 5 years or more, Newton has been a priority pipeline for schools at the next level such as TCNJ. As they continue to build their program, expect major universities across the northeast to be interested in Coach Parzero’s players.
Coach Parzero has been recognized as one of the best coaches in New Jersey as he has accepted the opportunity to coach the North-South High School All-Star Classic in June at Kean University. Be on the lookout for coach and his players to work hard this Summer looking to be a major thorn in the side of their opponents this Fall. Below are a few players to watch who will have a major impact on the team this upcoming season!
Brayden Nolan Brayden Nolan 5’9″ | 180 lbs | LB Newton | 2023 State NJ is a 2023 athlete who can play both ways as a linebacker and running back. In the 2022 season, Nolan ran for 1,515 yards and 23 TDs on offense as well as 107 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions on defense. On both sides of the ball he played a key part in their success on the field as a player and off the field as a leader. On the field, Nolan is a tough runner and runs hard behind his pads. When he is given the ball in the backfield he displays good vision and awareness to read the holes and acceleration to burst through them. On defense, he explodes into the backfield against the run and is a sure tackler to make a play on the ball carrier. He should be given the opportunity to play at the next level as he does whatever it takes to make an impact on his team on and off the field.
Michael Hudson
Michael Hudson
Michael Hudson is a rising senior who plays on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. As he is slightly undersized, he wins with effort and leverage. Be on the lookout for him to further build on his technique this offseason and be a major part of the success his team will have next season.
Tommy Carroll
Tommy Carroll
Tommy Carroll is looking to fill a major void left behind by Brayden Nolan Brayden Nolan 5’9″ | 180 lbs | LB Newton | 2023 State NJ . Similar to Nolan, Carroll plays both ways as a running back and linebacker. Carroll is slightly undersized, but makes up for it with high effort and toughness. Be ready for him to make the most of the opportunity given to him this upcoming season.
Dylan Cotter
Dylan Cotter
Dylan Cotter is a stand-up EDGE defender who wins at the point of attack. He uses a good mix of speed and power to set the edge and make a play on the runner. Cotter displays good agility to move laterally down the line of scrimmage and run down the ball carrier in pass and run situations. In addition, he uses great hand placement and arm extension to engage with blockers to shed when and make a play. As Cotter continues to work on his technique and build up strength in the offseason, he will have a major impact next season wrecking havoc in the backfield against his opposition.

Demarius Posey Demarius Posey 5’10” | 150 lbs | RB Newton | 2024 NJ is a physical cornerback who wins at the line of scrimmage with his strength to jam wide receivers and knock their timing on the play. Posey possesses good closing speed and great ball skills making it a tough time for quarterbacks to throw against him. Against the pass, he flips his hips well and shows solid change of direction to cover a plethora of routes on the route tree. Posey is also a solid special teamer and punt returner. After a solid 2022 season, Posey is looking forward to building another successful campaign in 2023.
