Burkett is also very quick laterally, avoiding blockers. He times his blitz excellently, he often takes the first step right before the snap. Burkett possesses the length and effort required to extend and get off blocks in space.

Curtis can easily move through the trash and shuffle from gap-gap. He’s able to hold his own when head-up with linemen. Can win engagements with technique and timing, displaying stack and shed. Curtis is a strong open field tackler. He brings his pads with him and stays true to his fundamentals.

Holzapfel displays open field recovery speed, dropping his head, opening his gate, and covering grass. Holzapfel has mirrored tight ends on inbreaking routes, capable of man coverage roles. He’s not stiff in his hips, he performs when asked to change direction or open up. This continues in the open field where his lateral agility has capability to make plays on shiftier backs.

Adams possesses length and size to play the position. He has build-up speed in a straight line to cover ground once he gets going. In space, he tackles reliably, wrapping up low. He can flip his hips and has the foot speed to succeed in man coverage. Holzapfel also can time the snap when blitzing and make plays. This kid is a stud!
Scott frequently fires through gaps to apply pressure on the quarterback. In coverage, Scott gains excellent depth in zone drops and has the mobility to make mid-play adjustments. Scott’s speed helps him carry running backs and tight ends vertically. Scott patiently reads the play before driving downhill with impressive closing burst. Scott delivers massive hits in the hole. He’s also willing to fly downhill and pop an offensive lineman before redirecting to the ball. College coaches should be knocking down his door!
