A tall target, with soft hands, who can run routes, is on every college coach’s recruiting needs list. Here is a report on a handful of pass catchers, in the Class of 2023, who either led the state in receptions or are competing in the K.E.M.F.A. 8-Man All-Star games in June.
Dustin Montgomery, WR, 5’8” 160, West Elk
The West Elk product has soft hands and can break tackles. Montgomery made 22 receptions for 451 yards in 2022. The West Elk senior caught eight balls for touchdowns. He is scheduled to participate in the K.E.M.F.A. 8-Man DI All-Star game in June.
Jochin Bonura, SB, 5’9”, 150, Cair Paravel
The Cair Paravel prospect is sneaky quick and runs solids routes. Bonura finished with 39 receptions for 474 yards during his senior season. He also had 13 touchdown receptions in 2022. He is scheduled to participate in the K.E.M.F.A. 8-Man DI All-Star game in June.
Miles Baalman, WR, 6’4”, 190, Hoxie
The Hoxie senior is a big target that can cause match-up problems. Baalman caught seven balls for touchdowns in 2022. During his senior season, he made 26 receptions for 363 yards. He is scheduled to participate in the K.E.M.F.A. 8-Man DI All-Star game in June.
Gunner Wilson, WR, 5’11”, 150, Trego
The Trego product is physical for his size and had nice hands. Wilson was among the leaders in 8-Man football with 51 receptions. He racked up 641 receiving yards while adding 345 yards rushing. He had seven receiving and rushing touchdowns. He is scheduled to participate in the K.E.M.F.A. 8-Man DI All-Star game in June.
Cash Tomberlin, WR, 5’7”, 130, South Barber
The South Barber star has big-play potential and could have an immediate impact on special teams for a college program. Tomberlin had 39 receptions for 721 yards. The South Barber senior caught eight balls for touchdowns. He is scheduled to participate in the K.E.M.F.A. 8-Man DI All-Star game in June.
Josh Zarybnicky, WR, 6’3”, 195, Hanover
The Hanover senior gets good separation and is a physical target. Zarybnicky during his junior and senior seasons combined for 51 receptions, 1,163 yards receiving, and 23 touchdown catches. He is scheduled to participate in the K.E.M.F.A. 8-Man DI All-Star game in June.
Stetson Stetter, WR, 6’0”, 175, Crest
Stetter had 26 receptions for 614 yards during the 2022 season. The Crest-Colony senior caught 15 balls for touchdowns. He is scheduled to participate in the K.E.M.F.A. 8-Man DII All-Star game in June.
