A few days ago we looked at all the players that have received offers so far this season. Now I wanted to highlight some of the top players that have yet to receive their first offer. These are players that I would offer today if I was in a position to do so. From established producers, to players on the rise, and even a few darkhorses that could open some eyes.
Sebastien Boyle Sebastien Boyle 5'11" | 210 lbs | RB Scottsbluff | 2024 State NE | RB | Scottsbluff | 6’0″ 210 lbs
Sebastien has been one of the top running backs in the 2024 class, and really in the state, since he broke out big time as a sophomore. Boyle continued his dominant ways as a junior, rushing for 1,926 yards, 26 touchdowns, and averaged 160 yards per game. Sebastien pops on tape with his mix of power, speed, and vision. He does a great job seeing the entire field and anticipating running lanes. Boyle is a tough player that can pound the ball between the tackles but can also bounce it to the outside and cranking on the jets. He has received a lot of interest from schools like Wyoming, North Dakota State, Kansas State, and several programs from Power 5-D2. Boyle has the chance to be one of the most prolific rushers in Class B history and has shown the tools to continue doing so at the next level.
Carson Rauner Carson Rauner 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Elkhorn South | 2024 State NE | QB | Elkhorn South | 6’3″ 200 lbs
Carson is a player that I feel is going to see several offers flow in once he receives his first. The Elkhorn South prospect had a tremendous first season as starter for the Storm. His command of the offense and ability to make throws to all levels of the field elevated the Storm into one of the more explosive offenses in the state. Carson finished the season with 1,602 passing yards and 13 touchdowns. Now with a year as a starter under his belt and the offense needing to lean on him more in 2023, it could lead to a jump in numbers. On top of the arm talent, Rauner’s mobility, ability to extend plays, and IQ make him a prospect I would offer right now. Some of the schools interested in Rauner include North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Iowa, and more.
Deandre Harper Deandre Harper 6'6" | 280 lbs | OL Omaha North | 2024 State NE | OL | Omaha North | 6’6″ 290 lbs
DeAndre was the player I was worried would be offered before I could finish writing this. Omaha North T/G Deandre Harper Deandre Harper 6'6" | 280 lbs | OL Omaha North | 2024 State NE has a tremendously high ceiling and opened lots of eyes after his junior season. Right off the bat, DeAndre’s measurables pop out at you, standing at 6’6″ with a 6’10” wingspan and at 290 pounds but moving a lot quicker than you would expect. He moves into the second levels very well and is very effective when pulling from the guard position. There is still some rawness to DeAndre’s game but another offseason of training should iron that out. Programs like Nebraska, Northern Illinois, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, and more have all shown interest in the Viking’s blocker.
JT Brands JT Brands 6'2" | 270 lbs | DL Oakland-Craig | 2024 State NE | DL | Oakland-Craig | 6’2″ 265 lbs
One of the best kept secrets of the 2024 class is Oakland-Craig defensive tackle JT Brands JT Brands 6'2" | 270 lbs | DL Oakland-Craig | 2024 State NE . JT has been wreaking havoc in the trenches for the Knights since his freshman season. He has been a constant nightmare for offenses, using his explosive first step and overwhelming power to work his way into the backfield. Even when given extra attention, he manages to win double teams or can clog up lanes for his teammates to make plays. He finished the season with 69 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and six sacks. JT was a two-way star for the Knights as a key player on the offensive line in an offense that can throw the ball and run equally well. Brands has also proven to be an exceptional athlete as a state medalist in wrestling and an excellent thrower in Track & Field. Schools like North Dakota State, Northern Illinois, Wyoming, North Dakota, and other D1 programs are looking at JT. Just a great talent and worker that you need to have on your squad!
Sam Brummund Sam Brummund 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Skutt Catholic | 2024 State NE | LB | Skutt Catholic | 6’2″ 215 lbs
Sam is a player that went somewhat under the radar last season despite having a pretty good year. He is a player that I think is going to impress at camps and showcases this offseason. He has size that projects well to the next level, still with more room to grow, along with solid short area quickness. Brummund plays the mental game very well, showing his ability to diagnose plays before exploding when he keys run or dropping into coverage. He’s a hard hitter with great length and technique to wrap up and finish with a clean tackle. South Dakota, Western Illinois, Augustana, North Dakota State, Wayne State, and other schools have shown interest in the Skutt ‘backer.
JR Lecuona | DL | Millard South | 6’3″ 240 lbs
Another monster on the defensive line! The Patriot’s JR Lecuona has been a dominant presence on the defensive line since his sophomore season. As a junior he tallied 77 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries. JR is a player that is going to leave it all on the field. His motor is non-stop and you can often see him making high effort plays. He can fire out of his stance and has the ability to switch from speed to power (and vice versa) to beat blockers and get into the backfield. Teams like Kansas State, North Dakota State, Saint Thomas, South Dakota State, and others have been in contact with Lecuona.
Davieian Williams Davieian Williams 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Lincoln Southeast | 2024 State NE | DB/ATH | Lincoln | 6’2″ 170 lbs
Davieian is a player that is a bit of a sleeper at this point but I think once coaches start catching wind of him this spring/summer, the offers are going to fly in. Davieian has been waiting in the wings under some great talent at Lincoln but heads into his senior year looking to step into a bigger role. Williams’ length, speed, and athleticism are incredible to watch on the field. He is a corner that likes to get physical in press coverage and has the fluidity to mirror receiver’s routes. South Dakota, Augustana, Drake, Wyoming, and other schools have expressed interest in Davieian so far.
