One of the fasters defensive backs I have covered thus far, Moore is a big time riser for the class of 2024. Tremendous foot and hip work are on full display when you watch this guy make play after play, he is poised to rise up up our rankings board soon. While he is 5’8 he plays the game like he is 6’2 and you may think he is just a finesse corner but that is certainly incorrect. Watch his tape where he lays out a running back on a flair route, reminded me of the Sheldon Brown hit on Reggie Bush many years ago. This kid has it all and is garnering interest from big time programs such as Richmond and Davidson already. A track star as well, this kid is a FBS level talent that I firmly believe could come in and help a major program from Day 1.

Khamari Veney
Khamari Veney
While his teammate Moore has gotten our attention and rightfully so already, we need to talk about this dude. Veney possesses great ball skills an instincts to play at either the FCS or FBS level. Standing at 5’10 this young man is just as physical as his teammate and gets a great jam on his receiver each play. He hauled in 3 interceptions last year himself, what I think will get him more FBS level interest is the physicality in which he plays with. Should be fun to watch the tandem of him and Moore for 2023 good luck to any opposing quarterback trying to complete a pass.

Alex “Lex” Keene-Forbes JR
Alex “Lex” Keene-Forbes JR
An angry hybrid linebacker with great closing speed are what stands out when I watch “Lex” do his thing on the football field. Lex is listed at maybe a little over 5’9 and 175 lbs. but he is not be taken lightly. Already clocked in under 11.0 in the 100 meter dash, you can see his closing speed on each sack or tackle for loss he creates. There may not be one skill position player in all of the state that are going to be able outrun him off the edge. Really like this kids game and think Garfield has a solid division 2 possible FCS sleeper on their hand for 2023.

A strong side linebacker with good ball skills and can cover this kid is a hidden gem along that stout defense. While you are watching some of his bone crunching tackles a nice reminder he is a used a slot back too in the Freedom South Riding offense. What is enjoyable the most about Hillenbrand’s game is his vision on both sides of the field. Whether its reading the quarterbacks eyes or seeing just a little bit a of gap on defense this kid will make you pay.

Jaime Lopez
Jaime Lopez
An all conference Tight End for the Stallions a year ago, who will have a bigger role for their offense coming for 2024. Lopez has top notch speed and power in his leg do not be surprised if he has more of role as a slot back this season with Division 1 prospect Jordan Dennis Jordan Dennis 5’9″ | 165 lbs | QB South County | 2024 State VA looking his way often. While South County has dudes that should end up at the FCS level or above such as Dennis, Gavin Frederick and Joe Pollinelli, Lopez has carved a nice path of his own. A true coaches player who will do anything to help the Stallions win, this rising junior is even their varsity punter.
