In what will become another weekly article, we are going to take a look at prospects that have had impressive 7-on-7 performances over the past few weeks. Let’s get caught up on some prospects to watch out for this upcoming season.
Jalen Cooper Jalen Cooper 6'2" | 165 lbs | WR Cibolo Steele | 2025 State TX -Wide Receiver-Steele-6’1” 155-Pounds-2025
Jalen Cooper Jalen Cooper 6'2" | 165 lbs | WR Cibolo Steele | 2025 State TX is a wide receiver that has tremendous speed. Cooper’s route running and mix of speed helps create separation from opposing defensive backs. Over the past few weeks, Cooper has been lighting up the 7-on-7 circuit. He is a prospect that is opening plenty of eyes with his impressive play. Cooper is already making plenty of highlight reel catches and he has the potential to keep it going on Friday nights this fall. Watch out for Cooper this fall.
Michael Hawkins Michael Hawkins 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Frisco Emerson | 2024 State TX -Quarterback-Frisco Emerson-6’2” 190-Pounds-2024
Michael Hawkins Michael Hawkins 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Frisco Emerson | 2024 State TX has flown under the radar until recently. However, he is a quarterback prospect that has an accurate arm and can test opposing defenses deep with his arm strength. Hawkins is dangerous when he gets out of the pocket. He has no problems scrambling and using his legs to pick up yardage. Meanwhile, he is excellent at keeping his eyes down the field and making the throw. Hawkins has had another strong performance at the Overtime Austin 7-on-7 event. He is a prospect to watch this upcoming season.
Dequane Prevo Dequane Prevo 5'11" | 165 lbs | ATH Liberty_Eylau | 2026 State TX -Wide Receiver-Liberty-Eylau-5’10” 160-Pounds-2026
Dequane Prevo Dequane Prevo 5'11" | 165 lbs | ATH Liberty_Eylau | 2026 State TX is an explosive playmaker out of Texarkana Liberty-Eylau. Prevo has the speed to stretch opposing defenses on the deep ball. He uses his speed to create separation from opposing defensive backs. Prevo is having an excellent tournament in Austin at the Overtime 7-on-7 event. He is a prospect that is drawing the interest of numerous division one programs and he will be a prospect to watch out for over the next few seasons.
Javari Johnson-Running Back-Texas-5’8” 177-Pounds-2025
The Texas High School prospect has opened plenty of eyes over the past few months. He is a runner that has no problem finding a rushing lane. Johnson has good vision and can find the lanes needed to break into the open field. He is a difficult receiver to coming out of the backfield. Johnson has the hands and the speed to be a threat in the passing game. Johnson has received scholarship offers from Boston College and strong interest from Tulsa over the past few weeks. Johnson is going to be a prospect to keep an eye on over the next few months. He has the potential to see plenty of action on Saturdays in the future.
Brayden Gollihar-Wide Receiver-Bishop Reicher-5’11” 170-Pounds-2024
Brayden Gollihar has a knack for making big receptions. He has made that clear over the past few weeks in 7-on-7 play. Gollihar uses his strong route running ability to create separation from opposing defensive backs. He is a wide receiver that works his way open for his quarterback and does an excellent job of working his way back. Gollihar has had great performances over the past few weeks and I look for that trend to continue into the season. He is a wide receiver to watch out for on Friday nights.
