Kayden Cooper
Kayden Cooper
Cooper showed on film that he has a lot of game to him. The awareness on the field combined with the skills needed to make impactful plays. He is a general on the field, putting teammates in the right position from his safety spot and making sure that everything is in place. Cooper is very good in coverage with quick hips and play recognition, and can play just as well in the box taking on the run. He causes pressure and creates TFLs off of the edge and is so quick to the ball. Cooper is an exciting player to keep eyes on.
Chris Gant Jr.
Chris Gant Jr.
Gant’s ability to defend the run from the secondary stands out on his film. He plays in the box with physicality and does his job, getting to ball carriers for minimal yards. Gant has very good speed, covering much ground in coverage and reading a quarterbacks eyes. He makes outstanding plays on the ball and creates momentum changing turnovers for his team. When watching Gant, you can tell that he has that true baller mentality which can take him a long way paired with his skill.
Phillip Meyers
Phillip Meyers
Meyers is another rangy safety who reacts with great quickness. Meyers tackles very well in space and fills in running lanes correctly from his position. His awareness and play recognition has to be spotlighted as well. Meyers shows a good feel for the game and puts himself in position to make plays in a hurry. He is without a doubt a player to keep eyes on and to watch his development on the field.
Tristtyn Davis
Tristtyn Davis
You want to see a player who goes 100% on every snap? Go watch this tape. Davis is everywhere on the field, in the box and even as the edge defender at times stuffing the run game. Davis is a tackling machine, wrapping up every attempt and allowing little to no gain when he’s in the area. He shows great closing speed and will chase down a play as far as it goes until he can get the stop. Davis looks very impressive on the field especially in the run game where he looks to always be involved in stops.
Jacob Sapp
Jacob Sapp
Sapp is what we call a popper. He leaves his mark on opponents and energizes not only the team, but gets into another gear after delivering punishing hits. Sapp shows that he is a leader on the defense and his skill backs it up. He has fantastic downhill speed and looks to play at a different tempo. That combined with his physicality makes him one of the best players on the field whenever he is on it. Sapp is simply just an exciting player to watch and looks to have a very promising future.
Elijah Mack
Elijah Mack
Mack played his role as a centerfielder perfectly at the safety spot. He was read quarterback reads correctly and jumped on routes before any positive plays could occur. Mack covers much ground, playing sideline to sideline and showed very good discipline, avoiding interference calls on his coverages. His timing breaking up passes was impressive. Mack’s reaction to plays was one thing that really stood out on his film. He will definitely be a player to stay up with as he develops over the offseason.
