As one class graduates, the next senior class becomes the primary recruiting target from college programs. The class of 2024 has showcased outstanding talent among its ranks, with players who have proven themselves as legitimate college prospects capable of playing at the highest level.
This article will briefly examine four tight ends from the 2024 class who should be added to recruiting boards, especially for the in-state programs.
Johnson is a physical player with great size, speed, and strength. He does a great job filling in as a blocker in the run game, using his strength and quick feet to seal the edge or drive defenders away from the area. His route-running abilities and wide catch radius make him a reliable target for quarterbacks. With a championship-winning season behind him, Johnson will look to take significant steps forward as a recruit while he and his team focus on winning another consecutive state title.
Highlights
Rohlman is listed as a tight end, but he would be a viable option as a legitimate wide receiver at the next level. He is explosive off the line and understands the importance of avoiding wasted movements by immediately attacking the defender’s space and pushing upfield. When facing press-man coverage, he uses his shifty releases to move the defensive back while quickly defeating the jam and stacking the defender. Rohlman’s outstanding speed, impeccable catch radius, and reliable hands make him a must-know player with significant potential as a sleeper.
Judd was a wide receiver who converted to the tight end position and never looked back. His love for the physical aspects of the position enables him to be a powerful blocker who initiates contact with aggression during every play. His skills and talents as a receiver have remained intact, making him a dangerous weapon when he releases for a pass. His size comes with a long stride and outstanding catch radius, which combine perfectly with his speed and athleticism. Judd played a significant role for his team, ending with a state championship, making him a player to add to the recruiting boards.
Highlights
Early is a talented athlete with excellent size and outstanding power and strength. He possesses an impressive balance between being a blocker and receiver, making him a tight end that could fit in multiple schemes. As a blocker, he does an excellent job at getting good hand placement and driving his feet to clear paths for the ball carrier. As a receiver, he can track the ball in the air and make contested catches in traffic. Early is a radar low-flyer primarily because of where he plays, but how he plays is what makes him a must-know athlete.
