Back with another Twitter Game Tape Review! I have five more prospects that responded and impressed with their Hudl clips. Lots of talent ready to break out on the recruiting scene!
Austin Stroh Austin Stroh 6'0" | 225 lbs | OL Elkhorn South | 2024 State NE | 2024 | OL | Elkhorn South | 6’0″ 220 lbs
The Elkhorn linemen have been getting a lot of love this season with several key players returning on the offensive line. One of them is center Austin Stroh Austin Stroh 6'0" | 225 lbs | OL Elkhorn South | 2024 State NE who was an underrated member and a great anchor on that mauling OL last season. Austin is a tough player that plays physical and doesn’t really back down to anyone despite being on the smaller end and taking on bigger tackles. He uses his hand placement very well and was able to gain inside leverage consistently. Once Stroh gains leverage, he can use his strength to overpower his opponent and finish with a pancake block. Austin also does a great job moving downhill and picking up defenders in the second levels. Keep this guy on your radar!
Sawyer Schilke Sawyer Schilke 6'4" | 225 lbs | LB Kearney | 2025 State NE | 2025 | LB | Kearney | 6’4″ 220 lbs
Kearney LB Sawyer Schilke Sawyer Schilke 6'4" | 225 lbs | LB Kearney | 2025 State NE is a player that surprised me with his tape submission. Only a sophomore, he was able to find a role on a deep Bearcats squad while racking up 48 tackles, five tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. He already has a next-level frame at 6’4″ and 220 lbs, with the speed and lateral quickness that translates well to today’s game. Sawyer especially excels as a downhill ‘backer, where he shows smart gap play and great timing with his blitzes. Schilke is automatic at the point of contact, using his length and size to deliver sound tackles that can leave a mark afterward. Although there were limited clips, he did look solid in pass coverage, using his closing speed to break up passes over the middle of the field. I’m looking forward to seeing more from the young ‘backer!
Jackson Kerchal Jackson Kerchal 6'4" | 210 lbs | DL Dundy County Stratton | 2024 State NE | 2024 | DL | Dundy County Stratton | 6’4″ 210 lbs
One player that is not getting enough attention is Dundy County Stratton defensive end Jackson Kerchal Jackson Kerchal 6'4" | 210 lbs | DL Dundy County Stratton | 2024 State NE . Jackson had a great season in which he recorded 69 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and three batted passes. Kerchal was a constant threat in the backfield with his explosive first step and a powerful upper body that allowed him to disengage from blocks. He is a hybrid rusher that can bulldoze his opponent with power moves or use his speed and bend to fly past blockers. Kerchal’s physicality and motor also popped out on tape with his hard-hitting tackles and making plays downfield. Overall, Jackson is a tremendous athlete that clocks a 4.6 40-time and runs an 11.2 in the 100m with the traits to excel at defensive end or linebacker at the next level.
Thomas Spears Thomas Spears 5'7" | 145 lbs | ATH Ashland Greenwood | 2025 State NE | 2025 | ATH | Ashland-Greenwood
Thomas has quietly been one of the top producers in the 2025 class. Since being named as a starter as a freshman, Thomas has established himself as an elite playmaker on all three sides of the game. As a receiver, he hauled in 51 receptions for 498 yards and seven touchdowns. Spears has the ability to get open at will and find holes in the defense. Thomas can also tear up defenses after the catch with his elusiveness and twitch. He possesses elite vision and can cut in any direction with no issue. His football IQ shines as a DB where he can manipulate QBs and pick up on route concepts quickly before positioning himself perfectly to make a play. Thomas’ ball skills are also a very important part of his game; since his freshman season, Thomas has snagged seven interceptions and nine pass breakups. Many QBs learned from his freshman to sophomore season that it wasn’t wise to throw his way. He also averaged 26 yards per kickoff return on special teams. Don’t sleep on this guy!
Jimmy Miller Jimmy Miller 6'2" | 250 lbs | OL Bennington | 2024 State NE | 2024 | OL | Bennington | 6’1″ 225 lbs
The Badgers faced the tall task of retooling their entire offensive line before the season, and they responded by running through the competition to back-to-back state championships with a new group. Several players stepped up big time, including Jimmy Miller Jimmy Miller 6'2" | 250 lbs | OL Bennington | 2024 State NE , who spent time at left tackle and guard. Miller already looks like another product of the Bennington offensive linemen machine. He’s not the biggest guy in the trenches, but he uses his leverage and fundamentals to win reps consistently. He can be sturdy and tough to move off of his anchor. What also stands out is how quickly Jimmy can think on his feet when picking up stunts while communicating them with teammates. Miller moves very well laterally and can step up into the second level to pick up LBs. Now the offensive line goes into next season as the most experienced unit on the offense so I look forward to seeing how Jimmy and Co. respond to the challenge.
