The speed, as well as the athleticism of these athletes, is a skill that makes them attractive to college programs. Here are several Game Changers, who fit the mold on the defensive line.
Caleb is a stout, athletic, explosive athlete who has an elite burst off of the line, his power at the point of attack stuns his opponent and his violent hands enables him to be a menace to opposing offenses. Mitchell Irving was First Team All State, he helped Parish Episcopal win a State Title, posting 96 tackles, 5 sacks and 15 TFLs. Caleb has double digit offers from schools across the country and has left no doubt that he is a Game Changer.
Armstrong is a bully in the trenches, he has a powerful punch at the point of attack, his explosive get off allows him to win consistently and he has the versatility to strike from multiple angles on the defensive side of the ball. Hand to hand, Armstrong gives his opponents the business, he is technically sound with his hand placement, he plays with great leverage and he attacks the ball carrier with bad intentions. The Rice University commit, is a multi-sport athlete, who is an elite wrestler and finished third in the state in 2022.
Highlights
Chima has freakish athleticism, he has a long, lean frame, his initial burst off of the line of scrimmage is cat quick and his ability to run the arch and bend gets him free consistently. The 6’5 230 pound edge rusher, plays the run exceptionally well, he uses his extended length to keep blockers at bay and he purses from the backside under control and tackles well in space. Iowa most recently extended an offer, while Texas Tech jumped on the train early and coming off a great performance at the Under Armour Dallas Regional, Chima’s stock is on a steady climb.
