Dereon is ranked as #1 in his position for various reasons. This young stud is a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line. His ability to take on double teams and create disruption at the point of attack is quite noticeable. Albert had quite a bit of playing time last season and will certainly see his playing time remain steady if he keeps up this level of play and continues to play with the same level of intensity. There is still room for improvement in regards to his technique and fundamentals but nevertheless Dereon will remain a coveted prospects in the years to come.
Preston Ashley Preston Ashley 5’11” | 160 lbs | DB Brandon | 2026 State MS may receive some flack due to his size but his play style and stature remind me of the New York Jets’ DJ Reed. What he may lack in size he makes up for in skill and production. As a Freshman Preston made several key plays on his team and played extremely well from a variety of alignments. His skill set and what he has put on tape shows that Preston Ashley Preston Ashley 5’11” | 160 lbs | DB Brandon | 2026 State MS is a promising up and coming athlete who should be made note of and has already received an offer from Ole Miss.
Omar is a young WR who has shown the ability to do great things with the ball in his hands. This past season Brand was productive in multiple facets of the game. From special teams to receiving and even rushing Brand found ways to make big plays happen. What he has shown so far is only a snapshot of his potential. If he continues to perform as he has, he will certainly be one of the top prospects in his class. I recommend Omar attend camps and 7on7s to continue to see his value as a prospect continue to rise.
Kaden Catchings Kaden Catchings 6’1″ | 210 lbs | WR Hartfield Academy | 2026 State MS has done an excellent job of making the most of his opportunities. Catchings boasts great size, speed and ability for his age. He stands at 6’0 205 and does not shy away from contact. Catchings has had a considerable amount of reps to show what he can do this year but I expect his share of reps will continue to increase his role on the team increases as well. This is another prospect that features a lot of potential. It would be good to see Catchings at some camps and 7on7s this spring and summer.
Highlights
KJ Cork KJ Cork 5’10” | 180 lbs | QB Choctaw County | 2026 State MS is a young QB who makes great plays with his hands and feet. Cork has excellent mobility in and out of the pocket. What is clear about this kid is that he is a competitor. To have this level of skill this early in his career says a lot about a prospect. His play style can be compared to that of draft prospects and Florida Gators QB Anthony Richardson’s. I expect Cork to be one of the most prolific QBs in his class as he continues throughout his high school career. If he can continue this trajectory his future is certainly bright.
