The Red Devils’ defensive line was among the best in the state in 2022, and Fonohema was a key reason why. The 6’5 defensive lineman is a force to be reckoned with off the edge. He can go through or around offensive tackles to wreak havoc in the backfield. In addition, Fonohema has one of the state’s best bull rushes. To counter this, offensive linemen will often lean forward, and when they do, Fonohema has a great push-pull move he uses. Fonohema does a great job setting the edge and can toss blockers out of the way before making tackles for loss.

Kinikini is a tenacious run defender who always keeps a good pad level. He explodes off the snap and quickly stands up offensive linemen to plug up rushing lanes and hold his gap. Kinikini does a great job gaining and maintaining leverage when matched up with interior offensive lineman. In addition, he does a good job getting his hands inside, allowing him to beat offensive linemen to break into the backfield for TFLs. Kinikini never stops before the whistle, and his effort allows him to make play after play.

Taula displays exceptional bend around the edge. He’s quick off the snap and does a good job ripping through offensive tackles arms to make plays. Taula is a good athlete who uses his hands incredibly well. In addition, he has a great motor, and it helps him chase down quarterbacks to force throwaways. Taula can go through offensive linemen or get around them with a lightning-quick spin move. He can split double teams and only seems to get stronger as the game progresses. Taula also has long arms he uses to bat down passes.

He’s quick off the snap and does a great job twisting where he can use the extra space to speed up and really blow back offensive linemen. Hall does a great job pursuing and never takes a play off. He’s a strong run defender who can stand up offensive linemen and make tackles on running backs. Hall is so athletic he plays in special teams, making exceptional tackles in space.
