Some great defenders and overall great football players litter this group of players. The one thing you will notice about all of these Student-Athletes is that they all have phenomenal GPAs and do their jobs off the field in the classroom better than most.
Good prospect from Collinsville, this Kahok mans the middle with some major play making abilities. He does a great job of avoiding blockers to make tackles near or behind the line of scrimmage and when he triggers to the ball there are few faster. He doubles as a part time running back and it definitely shows in his athleticism running sideline to sideline. He is fluid enough in space that he is a real asset in pass protection and when he gets hands on the ball carrier they rarely break free. Look for a big spring and summer from Isaiah as he heads into the 2023 season. His Twitter handle is @Zay30071869

Boyd Hunt
More of a cerebral, athletic player at linebacker than a bruiser, this ILB prospect from Libertyville impressed me on film with his smoothness at the position. He does a great job of covering players in the slot and can also slide under and around blockers to make tackles all over. A highly cerebral player (3.5 GPA) he is working hard this off season to combine the brawn with the brain. He will have an active spring making visits and I look for a big summer from Boyd. Big time small school player from Casey-Westfield, Connor is a fantastic 3-sport athlete on AND off the field (3.92 GPA) who plays the position exceptionally well. He can man the middle and knock down ball carriers or rush the passer from a 2-point edge position. He plays the position as a bruiser but can definitely move sideline to sideline and his film shows, especially when he gets the ball as an offensive player. His ceiling is very high and he has already gathered a ton of interest from SIUC and Ball State. Look for a big senior season from Connor. His Twitter handle is @csully_05
“Shot out of a cannon” is the best way to describe this 3-sport athlete from Bradley-Bourbonnais High School and how he tackles ball carriers. He always seems to be around the football and makes some really athletic interceptions in coverage as well as having a real nose for the ball in the run game. He’s cat quick and when he shoots the gaps, the Offensive line sometimes don’t even lay a hand on him. His film is impressive but his off-field work is just as impressive as his 3.5 GPA has gathered the interest of many Ivy League schools. He has the tools and ability that he should repeat as his conferences Defensive Player of the Year again in 2023. His Twitter handle @AJ_Mancilla_

Undersized but athletic tackling machine for the Trojans of DGN, this LB prospect always seems to be in the right place at the right time. A lot of that has to do with his ability as a football player but a lot more has to do with his intellect off the field. He sports a 4.0 GPA and an SAT score of 1260, both of which have led him to being recruiting by some of the highest academic schools in the country. It also helps that he is a smooth player who can run sideline to sideline and tackle ball carriers anywhere on the field. Look for another big season from Teddy as he tries to help the Trojans make another deep playoff run in 2023. His Twitter handle is @TeddyGriffin21

Another cat quick, exceptionally smart (3.9 GPA) 2-sport athlete finishes out this list of linebackers. Phu is stout in the middle but can also run sideline to sideline very well too. He isn’t asked to much in the coverage side of the game but he does very well is reading then diagnosing the play and attacking the offense to make tackles in space. He is sneaky athletic and seems to always make the blockers miss when he is making plays. He has made a few visits this spring and I would look for an active summer heading into the 2023 season.
