Martrell is a solid linebacker for the Lafayette Commodores. Wilbourn was a big reason as to why Lafayette was able to keep most opponents under 2 touchdowns per game. His being ranked 11th in 5A is quite notable as there are some perennial powerhouses in 5A. Unfortunately Martrell suffered a season ending injury mid season last year which caused him to miss a significant amount of games. Nevertheless Martrell is a reliable play maker on the field. He is one of the top 10 LBs in his class however with a full season ahead of him that is set to improve. I am willing to say that Martrell’s injury will only motivate him to play harder and show just who he is as a player and prospect.
Braiden Clayborn Braiden Clayborn 6’3″ | 200 lbs | DL Provine | 2024 State MS is an athlete that boasts great versatility and ability. Clayborn can play as a standup OLB or a 5 technique defensive end. His playing style and productivity remind me a lot of Micah Parsons. He has been noted as a 2024 top defensive line prospect because of his ability. Clayborn has received a notable offer from Mississippi State but will most likely receive more as he progresses through his senior year. His skill set makes him quite valuable as a prospect and would be a great addition to a power 5 program.
Amerrien (Amarrien) Bailey is nothing short of impressive. One may even make the claim that he is an underrated prospect. During his junior season Bailey was making plays left and right. He ended the season with over 130 tackles, 20 tfls, 3 sacks, 3 interceptions and 3 forced fumbles. This kid was where he needed to be at the right place and was indeed an impactful force for his team. Amarrien’s speed and instinct allow for him to read and react with little to no hesitation. The All-State athlete is a great prospect and would be a potential day 1 impact on any roster.
Jermar is an impressive athlete from Starkville High School who has had some great seasons in addition to a State Champion Title under his belt. This past season Jermar was phenomenal in helping the Yellow Jackets attain a 12-3 and the 2023 Champion Title. With every play McCarter brings intensity and effectiveness. He has shown the ability to help in the run game, drop in coverage and effectively diagnose plays. A player of his caliber is bound to have countless opportunities come his way.
Dedeaux is a notable Edge/OLB with great skills and ability. Aden was able to be incredibly productive from multiple alignments. His tendency to be disruptive at the point of attack makes him a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line. Whenever he makes hits he does so with enough force to stop the ball carrier in his tracks. Dedeaux’s read and react ability are next level. I would liken his skill set to T.J Watt. With this type of potential Aden Dedeaux Aden Dedeaux 6’3″ | 210 lbs | DL Poplarville | 2024 State MS is a great prospect in this class. Dedeaux has received invitations to various camps in addition to an offer from SEMO
