Here we have players who had outstanding seasons last year, earning themselves All District honors and guys who just go on the field and ball out. The players listed all have been difference makers for their respected teams and hopefully we will see them continue to develop into dominant players. Keep eyes out for all of these dawgs for this summer and next season!
Arinze Ejeckam
Arinze Ejeckam
Ejeckam seems to do just about everything right when he is on the field and in coverage. He is instinctual, and has a good feel for the game as well as playing comfortably in the open field. Ejeckam is excellent in 50/50 situations, playing the ball very well and causing breakups. He is a menace in zone coverage, executing zone turns and reading the quarterbacks eyes, breaking on screens and making TFLs. Ejeckam can lockdown an entire side and welcomes a challenge. His play earned him First Team All District honors.
Carson Williams
Carson Williams
Williams is a longer corner who has a physicals style of play. He shows the ability to be effective in zone or man, and has great ball skills. Williams disrupts receivers with his bump and run coverage and uses his length to get his hands on the ball before it can reach its target. When watching his film, it is easy to tell that Williams loves to get his hands on a receiver and show his strength and physicality. Throughout a game he can wear down opposing receivers with his play.
TJ Jones
TJ Jones
Jones is a gamechanger on the defensive side of the ball. He is a movable piece in the secondary that can play at any position and make plays. He shows very good hips, coming out of his back pedal with quickness flipping to either side, never loosing a step. Jones has a strong punch to stun receivers in press, and his long arms throws off all of the timing for opposing receivers and quarterbacks. Jones even plays the run game extremely well, especially when lined up as a safety and coming downhill with force. Jones should most definitely be on the radar for many heading into next season.
Camren Vandible
Camren Vandible
Vandible is another rangey defender who excels at covering the slot. He can line up deep as a safety or move to the nickel corner and disrupt and offenses game. Vandible is a ballhawk as well. He is an acrobat with the ball in the air and has the length to cover much ground and space on the field. He reads an opposing quarterbacks eyes very well, baiting them into throws where he can make plays. Vandible plays a smooth game and he should be one to draw much attention next season.
McMillan is a high IQ defender who possesses great play recognition. You can see that he studies the game and executes come game time. McMillian is smooth in his coverage, going step for step with receivers and playing their eyes, getting his head turned around to make plays on the ball in the air. He has great body control and has a nose for the ball, creating turnovers at a high rate. McMillan is used as a swiss army knife for the Falcons, as he will take snaps on offense and he also happens to be an excellent return man for the team.
Markie Grant
Markie Grant
Grant’s game is one to definitely pay attention to. He is a straight baller, on offense or defense, he gets the job done. Grant is a turnover causing machine, always going for the ball when the opportunity is presented. He is a versatile defender who plays safety as well as corner. He has good size to him and has excellent ball skills, becoming the receiver when the ball is in the air. Grant can be a name to remember early, as he may blow up heading into next season.
