No. 33 Reshad Sterling Reshad Sterling 6'3" | 235 lbs | DL Lutcher | 2025 State LA | 6-2, 235 DL | Lutcher
The good-looking sophomore athlete was a two-way standout for the Bulldogs this fall, as a defensive end and offensive tackle, during their memorable state championship run. Sterling looks like one of the top defensive end prospects in Louisiana’s 2025 class early with his length, strength and explosiveness into opposing backfields.
No. 35 Chad Elzy Chad Elzy 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Ascension Catholic | 2025 State LA | 5-10, 175 ATH | Ascension Catholic
Some of the underclassman film on Elzy bears some reminiscence with his explosiveness, solid build and his three-phase, all-over-the-field playmaking ability. Early expectations are for the Bulldogs’ young standout to end up another notable prospect in Louisiana’s impressive 2025 running back class, but he has also already shown lots of potential as a versatile defensive back in the fall and dynamic receiver in the spring 7-on-7 circuit.
No. 40 Jordan Hayes Jordan Hayes 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Ruston | 2025 State LA | 5-9, 190 RB | Ruston
The Bearcats have a nice lineage of running backs going in recent years with Hayes the next man up behind Dyson Fields Dyson Fields 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Ruston | 2023 State LA , the way Fields complemented Ke’Travion Hargrove as a sophomore then succeeded him as a junior. “Jet” fits the mold with his powerful running through contact and listed 4.42-second 40-yard speed he showcased on some breakaway touchdowns against Ruston’s strong slate of competition.
No. 41 Jacob Bradford Jacob Bradford 6'0" | 190 lbs | DB Catholic (Baton Rouge) | 2025 State LA | 6-1, 185 DB | Catholic (Baton Rouge)
The older brother of the talented Bradford duo playing in the Bears’ defensive backfield is a versatile and physical multisport athlete who helped the school win an outdoor track championship last May and its first basketball state championship this month. On the football field, he stood out as a hard-hitting defensive back with the speed to play corner and make several big plays as a returner.
No. 43 Jhase Thomas Jhase Thomas 6'2" | 170 lbs | ATH Destrehan | 2025 State LA | 6-2, 170 ATH | Destrehan
The son of former New Orleans Saints cornerback Fred Thomas is a member of the next talented generation stepping into bigger roles this year for reigning undefeated state champion Destrehan. The younger Thomas has shown some high-level and versatile talent on both the baseball diamond and the football field, where his work has included quarterback, receiver and now some defensive back where his length, listed 4.49-second 40-yard speed and willingness to hit are making an intriguing potential safety.
No. 45 John Hebert John Hebert 6'3" | 265 lbs | OL University Lab | 2025 State LA | 6-3, 245 OL | University Lab
Hebert earned a lot of prime left tackle opportunities for his Cubs’ young offensive line, but showed some versatility to play on either side of the line, and excelled with explosiveness and quickness — both laterally pulling across the formation and to the next level to engage and move linebackers — that pop off the screen in his sophomore highlights. Early on in their development, he looks like one of the top handful or so of the offensive linemen in Louisiana’s 2025 class.
No. 47 Dylan Singleton Dylan Singleton 6'4" | 280 lbs | DL Loreauville | 2025 State LA | 6-4, 280 DL | Loreauville
The big-bodied multisport standout, who has played both ways and also plays for his school’s basketball team, was a handful up front for the Tigers’ defense with his power to push opposing blockers back and quickness to get by or shed blocks and make plays. Only a couple minutes of underclassman footage are available thus far, but his big frame, mobility and motor at this point in his development are intriguing.
No. 48 Corey Amos Corey Amos 6'3" | 205 lbs | LB Opelousas | 2025 State LA | 6-3, 205 LB | Opelousas
Amos was a sophomore standout for a breakthrough Tigers’ group that won nine straight games to earn the No. 3 seed in its Division-II non-select bracket. The stand-up edge rusher has some of the best size and length at the position in Louisiana’s 2025 class and shows great discipline in setting the edge and motor in pursuing plays behind the line and all over the field.
No. 49 Jeremie Elzy | 5-10, 160 DB | Covington
The Lions’ standout is an intriguing under-the-radar defensive back early in his high school career. Elzy’s instincts, quick change of direction and physicality, whether jamming opposing receivers or as a tackler, consistently jump out on his sophomore highlight. And, between some of that film and some 7-on-7 clips thus far this spring, he has also showcased good ball skills on passes his direction.
No. 50 Zheric Hill Zheric Hill 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Ruston | 2025 State LA | 6-0, 210 LB | Ruston
Similarly to Hayes coming into his own alongside Fields on offense, Hill broke out this fall as a fantastic counterpart to 2022 linebacker Jadon Mayfield Jadon Mayfield 6'1" | 220 lbs | LB Ruston | 2024 State LA alongside one another on the Bearcats’ loaded defense. Hill, who also plays for Ruston’s high-level basketball program, is a strong, explosive athlete who moves well laterally and made huge plays in run defense, pass rush and coverage against some of the other top programs in the state.
