I love that Davis-Swain will pursue ball carriers down the field. He has a strong athletic body and has very good length. Swain does a good job of using all his strength & athletic ability to play to at a high level. He is very aware of how to use his leverage to attack offensive tackles and knock them back on plays where he is rushing the passer.
There are many plays were Swain will disrupt read option plays and tackle the quarterback or half-back at the line of scrimmage or in the backfield for a loss. I love the aggression that he plays with and does have any problem with tacking on pulling offensive linemen or tight ends on running plays. His quickness and allows him to sneak between blockers and plug running lanes. Even if he does not make the tackle a lot of times he makes the play.
#56 Tyler Dosh Tyler Dosh 6'0" | 225 lbs | DL Davison | 2024 State MI | Davison | Hudl
The first thing I love about Dosh’s game is his ability to knock the ball out of quarterbacks hands. Some guys have are very good at this and Dosh is certainly one of them. I love the motor that he plays with. There are many plays where he does not initially shed the offensive tackle but will continue to work until he has got off the block.
He has good short-area burst and it definitely helps him to close in on quarterbacks. He has very good overall play strength and he holds the point of attack very well. Interior linemen and tight ends are no match for him most of the time. Davison’s coaching staff does a good job of using Dosh in a two-point stance where is is aligned as almost a wide-nine technique and then they move him inside with his hand in the dirt where he can disrupt plays between the tackles.
#62 Anthony Wright Anthony Wright 6'0" | 285 lbs | DL Chippewa Valley | 2024 State MI | Chippewa Valley | Hudl
I like Wright’s game a lot. First off, you have to love his versatility. This is a guy who can play the 0-5 techniques with no problem. Wright has very powerful hands and uses them well to get around offensive linemen. Like Dosh & Davis-Swain he does a great job of pursuing ball carriers. He is a physical tackler who does a great job of wrapping up and finishing by taking the defender all the way to the ground. He has legitimate power and can drive offensive lineman several yards back. Like Davis-Swain, there are many times that Wright shoots gaps and makes a running back run into other defenders. Even if Wright does not make the tackle he effects the play almost every time.
#8 Marquise White Marquise White DL Detroit Martin Luther King | 2024 State MI | Detroit King | Hudl
White has a good muscular build at 6-2, 230 lbs. He does a great job of reading the read option play and can create tackles for loss. He shows good quick twitch and agility and uses this to get past blockers and make tackles. He is a good tackler who does a good job of wrapping up and using his overall strength to stop ball carriers momentum. White is very quick and has several plays where is quickness allows his to work right past offensive linemen and get to the ball carrier for a minimal gain. He has very good short-area burst and long speed as well and he uses this ability to run down ball carriers who are a several yards away.
