Let’s look at which running backs (and one QB) are returning as leaders in rushing yards.
1. Trent McCain Trent McCain 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Ord | 2024 State NE | 2024 | Ord
Stats: 2,011 rushing yards, 299 carries, 6.73 ypc, 24 touchdowns, 167.6 ypg.
2. Sebastien Boyle Sebastien Boyle 5'11" | 210 lbs | RB Scottsbluff | 2024 State NE | 2024 | Scottsbluff | 5’11” 215 lbs
Stats: 1,926 rushing yards, 237 carries, 8.13 ypc, 26 touchdowns, 160.5 ypg.
– Sebastien broke onto the scene as a sophomore with 1,700 rushing yards and came a few yards shy of cracking the 2,000-yard mark.
– Considering his averages in the past two seasons, there is a good chance Sebastien ends his prep career as the Class B rushing yards leader.
– Powerful back with excellent speed, vision, and twitch. D1 level back.

– Keenan was the feature back on one of the most explosive offenses in the state.
– Helped Pierce win the Class C1 championship.
– His vision and twitch make him such a tough back to track down. His lower body strength and balance make him even harder to bring down on first contact.
4. Treven Weddle Treven Weddle 6'1" | 190 lbs | RB West Point-Beemer | 2024 State NE | 2024 | West Point-Beemer | 6’1″ 185 lbs
Stats: 1,287 rushing yards, 184 carries, 7 ypc, 26 touchdowns, 143 ypg.
– Treven was a two-way standout for WPB at RB and LB.
– Weddle is more of an in-between-the-tackles back, but he has plenty of burst to take plays to the outside and then accelerate through the second and third levels.

Stats: 1,245 rushing yards, 172 carries, 7.24 ypc, 11 touchdowns, 103.8 ypg.
– Elusive, shifty, speedy back that can weave through defenses with ease.
– Very underrated vision and patience as a runner.
– Great overall athlete that can also play DB and return kicks.
6. Payton Prestito Payton Prestito 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE | 2024 | Papillion-La Vista | 5’10” 185 lbs
Stats: 1,178 rushing yards, 154 carries, 7.65 ypc, 10 touchdowns, 117.8 ypg.
– The Monarchs have a dangerous 1-2 punch in their backfield with Payton leading the charge.
– Payton is a great mix of power and speed. He can absorb contact while maintaining his balance and staying upright.
– Payton is a 2024 prospect that could start making noise in the recruiting circuit this offseason.
7. Anthony Rezac Anthony Rezac 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE (QB) | 2024 | Omaha Westside | 6’3″ 195 lbs
Stats: 1,118 rushing yards, 160 carries, 6.99 ypc, 19 touchdowns, 86 ypg.
– Anthony is also second in returning passing yards leader. One of 3 QBs to rush for 1,000 yards and the only one to throw for 2,000 and rush for 1,000.
– Very effective runner, whether it is a designed run or him tucking the ball and taking off, he is a threat to make a big gain.
– Excellent balance and very tough to tackle. He’s very slippery and had several runs where he broke several tackles
8. Quinn Bailey Quinn Bailey 5'8" | RB Chadron | 2025 State NE | 2025 | Chadron | 5’8″ 165 lbs
Stats: 1,044 rushing yards, 168 carries, 6.21 ypc, 13 touchdowns, 116 ypg.
– Quinn stood out at the Stock Up Showcase, impressing with his explosive cuts and fast twitch.
– He can hit a different gear in a snap and if he can get a clean edge or lane toward the boundaries… he’s gone!
– Quinn also just won the Class B 152 state championship in wrestling. Congratulations on that great accomplishment.

– Evan is a tough, bruising back that can chip away at defenses in between the tackles.
– He’s not a very flashy runner, but he is explosive after his cut and can be tough to tackle.
