The countdown to the 2023 season marches on! We continue our coverage of returning yardage leaders with the top pass catchers.
Here are the top 10 leaders in receiving yards going into the 2023 season.
1. Isaiah McMorris Isaiah McMorris 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Bellevue West | 2024 State NE | 2024 | Bellevue West | 6’0″
Stats: 90 Receptions, 1,297 receiving yards, 15 touchdowns, 118 ypg.
– Isaiah set the record for receptions in a season with 90.
– Elite playmaker with excellent receiving skills, explosiveness after the catch, vision.
– He is a threat to make a big gain every time he touches the ball, whether he’s picking up YAC after a quick screen or using his top-tier speed to burn defenses deep.
– Holds offers from Tulane, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, Texas Tech, Mizzou, Kansas, Kansas State, and Iowa.
2. Dylan Sheard Dylan Sheard 6'2" | 240 lbs | LB Bellevue West | 2024 State NE | 2024 | Omaha South | 6’2″ 215 lbs
Stats: 50 receptions, 1,105 receiving yards, 9 touchdowns, 138.1 ypg.
– The Packer’s offense was flying this season, with Dylan being one of two South receivers to crack the 1,000-yard mark.
– Dylan is a phenomenal athlete that can practically do it all on the field; receiving, passing, rushing, defense, you name it.
– Big, athletic frame makes him tough to match up with. He can elevate and make tough catches through contact.
– Received his first offer this month from Wayne State. Definitely a prospect to watch this offseason.
3. Dae’Vonn Hall Dae’Vonn Hall 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Bellevue West | 2024 State NE | 2024 | Bellevue West | 6’2″ 175 lbs
Stats: 62 receptions, 974 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns, 88.5 ypg.
– The Thunderbirds have a MONSTER duo coming back in 2023.
– Dae’Vonn is the top prospect in Nebraska and one of the top receivers in the country.
– Hall is very polished at this point in his prep career. Great hands, speed, YAC, can beat press, etc. Very impressive prospect.
– Holds offers from Penn State, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kansas, Mizzou, Kansas State, Nebraska, and Iowa.
4. Grayson Bouwman Grayson Bouwman ATH Fort Calhoun | 2024 NE | 2024 | Fort Calhoun | 6’1″
Stats: 49 receptions, 801 receiving yards, 19 touchdowns, 89 ypg.
5. Kaedan Detamore | 2024 | Doniphan-Trumbull | 5’10” 150 lbs
Stats: 51 receptions, 757 receiving yards, 6 touchdowns, 84.1 ypg.
– Kaedan had a great season at receiver, but he might project best as a safety at the next level.
– Very rangy player that can cover a lot of ground.
– Didn’t see a lot of receiver clips in his tape, but I am sold on him as a DB.
6. Nick Haplin | 2024 | Mount Michael Benedictine
Stats: 39 receptions, 727 receiving yards, 4 touchdowns, 72.7 ypg.
7. Jackson Williams Jackson Williams 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Millard West | 2024 State NE | 2024 | Millard West | 6’0″ 170 lbs
Stats: 28 receptions, 711 receiving yards, 11 total touchdowns, 71 ypg.
– Jackson is electric on the football field. Flat-out playmaker.
– His speed makes him a huge threat in the passing game. He is also one of the best returners in the state.
– He is very good after the catch. Jackson has great vision and is a fluid runner that can find open lanes.
8. Logan McGreer Logan McGreer 5'9" | 160 lbs | WR Malcolm | 2025 State NE | 2025 | Malcolm | 5’9″ 150 lbs
Stats: 29 receptions, 692 receiving yards, 8 touchdowns, 63 ypg.
– Logan was a nice surprise to come out of the 2025 class. He had the most receiving yards out of all sophomore receivers.
– McGreer torched defenses all season long with an average of 23 yards per reception.
– He uses his speed to spread defenses and can open up receiving opportunities for his teammates.
9. Zander Reuling Zander Reuling 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR Kearney | 2024 State NE | 2024 | Kearney | 5’10” 175 lbs
Stats: 37 receptions, 643 receiving yards, 8 touchdowns, 64.3 ypg.
– Very speedy, shifty receiver that can be a threat in all three phases of the game.
– Lot of twitch in his route running. Zander can get open with ease.
– Despite not being a big receiver, he has a lot of hops and can go up to snag the ball at the high point.
10. Corbin Guill | 2025 | Oakland-Craig
Stats: 35 receptions, 630 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns, 57.3 ypg.
– Corbin is a fullback that can be a huge asset in the passing game.
– Great chemistry with the QB, was able to find open windows when his QB had to roll out.
– Very tough with the ball in his hands. He was hard to bring down on first contact and often showed his fullback tendencies by trucking defenders.
