We will continue our series today with Ole Miss, who did not overload their class with in-state prospects, but did get some of the top tier guys available, including the top overall player in the state.
Suntarine Perkins Suntarine Perkins 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH Raleigh | 2023 State MS – LB – Raleigh
A highly regarded, top 20 prospect in the country, Perkins will be expected to step in and immediately produce at a LB position that has been average at best for the Rebels. Physically there is no one in the state more prepared to step in and contribute from day 1, with just a little added weight. For a guy that spent the majority of his high school career on the offensive side of the ball, Perkins plays the LB position with comfort which should only get better as time progresses. Future three down, do it all LB, with obvious NFL potential.
Ayden Williams Ayden Williams 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Ridgeland | 2023 State MS – WR – Ridgeland
The WR position was weak in the state of MS for 2023 but the Jackson area receiver was the cream of the crop. Williams projects as a boundary wideout that fits very well into the traditional Lane Kiffin offense. There is obvious length in his strong frame that shows impressive athleticism. Williams wins 50/50 balls with good frame usage. Strong kid that will fit well into the tough, physical league that is the SEC.
Jamarious Brown Jamarious Brown 6'4" | 255 lbs | DL Moss Point | 2023 State MS – DL – Moss Point
Tons of raw potential flashes on the tape of Brown. Question marks abound regarding position projection and verified size, but current frame suggests he will play on the end. Brown committed to the Rebels early in the process and stuck it out all the way. Expect incoming DC Pete Golding to tap into the potential of Brown as he matures over the next few years.
