Strength, size, and stability are three components every coach desires in their offensive line, and these five lineman check each of those boxes. Whether it is the quarterback relying on them to maintain the pocket, or a running back needing to follow the path they’ve created, these five lineman will be instant successes when it comes to the next level. Be on the lookout in 2023 for the havoc they create.
Starting off with one of the tallest of the bunch, Aidan Lynch is a hidden gem in Mount Olive. Playing tackle and defensive end, Aiden was dominant on both sides of the ball. It only takes 45 seconds of watching his junior year highlights to see him drive multiple defenders into the ground. Coming from a smaller school, Aiden may not be the highest in the rankings just yet, but all that should change once the 2023 season begins.
Highlights
If you’re looking for a tackle that already has the size for the next level, Juan Minaya Juan Minaya 6’6″ | 325 lbs | OL Paramus Catholic | 2024 State NJ is your man. You will find Juan playing a crucial role in the run and pass game in 2023. What I found so amazing in his film was his effort down the field on long runs, and also the first step quickness he has to put himself in position to maintain the pocket. When you see Paramus Catholic light up the scoreboard this year, you will know Juan played a big part in it.
Anthony is another lineman coming from the 2024 class that already has next level size. Noticing a trend here? No one was getting around Anthony Crawford Anthony Crawford 6’6″ | 310 lbs | OL Union City | 2024 State NJ in 2023, he was a force on the field. He is a very dependable player. Coaches can confidently run the ball behind him and rely on him for pass protection. Union City has an elite lineman on their hands.
The trend continues with another college ready lineman coming out of NJ. Nyier Daniels Nyier Daniels 6’8″ | 300 lbs | OL Bergen Catholic | 2024 State NJ ‘ run blocks were brutal. Any defender found in his path would have a world of hurt coming their way. With multiple offers from some big name programs, Nyier only has success on his horizon.
Our final man on this list is the fantastic lineman from Delbarton, Ryan Cregan Ryan Cregan 6’5″ | 295 lbs | OL Delbarton | 2024 State NJ . Flawless technique. Those two words describe Ryan’s 2022 film the best. He seemed to always find a way to position his body right where it needed to be. Ryan recently received his first D1 offer from Army, but I am sure there will be many more offers pouring in after he dominant in 2023.
