Chaffee’s captain and quarterback shows his football IQ as the leader on both sides of the ball. Also Chaffee’s leading rusher, Carson’s speed shows as a ball carrier or in backside pursuit as a defensive back. Coaches see Carson’s potential as a free safety due to the height and range he shows covering ground from midfield. Carson’s sharp instincts show when he quickly diagnoses power runs versus wing T formations.
Instead of running an offense at the next level, Mark Panagos Mark Panagos 6’0″ | 190 lbs | QB Scott City | 2024 State MO might have a better fit on the opposite side of the ball. With the height and instincts shown plucking balls over smaller receivers, Mark shows he has the ideal skill set to transition to free safety. Mark’s physicality and football IQ shows consistently disrupting the catchpoint. Mark’s athleticism shows extending over receivers to complete his interceptions, while long speed gets displayed running the speed option for Scott City. Great effort in pursuit and instincts in coverage are just some examples that point to Mark leading a secondary at the next level.

Max Ervie is a leader for St. Pius X on both sides of the ball. Coming off an all-state season, Max looks to lead St. Pius X deeper in the playoffs in 2023.
Max shows his safety skill set by fluidly changing direction playing the deep half and attacking screens well before they get set up. Good instincts show reacting quickly to pullers in the run game and quickly diagnosing play action. Max’s athletic and tackling ability breaking down in space add immense value to his defensive back projection.
Coming off of a quarterfinal loss, Jamarion looks to lead his team to new heights in 2023. Portageville’s wildcat QB and offensive specialist also shows promise on the defensive side of the ball.
Jamarion shows his quickness and fluid change of direction as a returner for Portageville. These movement skills combined with the balance & toughness he displays as a runner will be noted by college coaches looking for prospects to make a position change to cornerback. Jamarion’s instincts show as a patient runner, but an interception versus Charleston where he breaks from a deep middle zone confirms he has the awareness to succeed in more than man coverage.

Aaron looks to build off his experience playing everywhere in the secondary. A slot receiver and running back, Palmyra’s playmaker on both sides of the ball looks to lead a rebounding Panthers team in 2023.
Aaron shows the speed to cover inside receivers by taking his own bubble screens to the endzone untouched. His defensive versatility is displayed playing off man as a nickel back and successfully disrupting the catchpoint against bigger receivers. Aaron shows his awareness jumping routes in zone and quickly diagnosing play action. College coaches looking for safeties like his instincts and also the tackling ability he shows disrupting well executed jet sweeps and RB screens.
