In our recent 2025 rankings dive, we have discovered a ton of new talent that emerged this past season. Today, we highlight several stand out 2025s that have yet to receive their first college opportunity.
Putting up over 2,100 total offensive yards and 21 touchdowns as a sophomore, Booneville’s Noah Gillon Noah Gillon 6’3″ | 180 lbs | QB Booneville | 2025 State MS is one of the top talents at the quarterback position in the 2025 class. At 6’3″ 175, Gillon has great size for the position and will fill out as time goes on. In the pocket, Gillon has good spatial awareness and can navigate space well. He has a smooth drop back and has good feet when moving around and stepping into his throws. Gillon is the type of quarterback that can throw from a variety of arm angles and make things happen when the pocket collapses. He throws with great zip on the ball and can make some incredible completions downfield while on the move. On top of his passing ability, Gillon also has enough athleticism to make plays on designed runs or in scramble drill. This is a special talent at quarterback that has 2 years left to stand out. Watch for him to begin to add college interest as the year progresses.
An all purpose back out of Simmons, Eddie George Eddie George 5’11” | 170 lbs | RB Simmons | 2025 State MS is one of the more explosive offensive players in the 2025 class. George is a smooth and sudden runner who can change direction quickly and make plays in the open field. Best used on zone based run concepts, George has impressive vision and knows when to bounce the run backside. In the open field, he can make defenders miss and explode to the second level using his speed. George isn’t the biggest back, but he still does a great job at running through contact and staying upright when arm tacklers come his way. In addition, George has value as a punt and kick returner on special teams. He currently has no offers, but watch for George to add interest during 2023.
Catching over 50 balls for 901 yards and 9 touchdowns as a sophomore, Wesson’s Deshawn Smith Deshawn Smith 6’0″ | 170 lbs | WR Wesson | 2025 State MS may not be a sleeper prospect for much longer. A dynamic talent, Smith is used all across the formation but finds the majority of his snaps at slot receiver. Athletically, Smith is as fast player who shows good wiggle. He can change direction smoothly and run crisp routes in the open field without a lot of stiffness to his hips. When the ball is in the air, Smith has smooth hands and can come down with almost any pass intended for him. He isn’t scared to go over the middle and get the ball either. Smith has a lot of value in the yards after catch game and can turn short breaking routes into long gains. While he currently holds no offers, Smith has the production of a player that will get looks soon.
A massive center prospect out of Moss Point, Deshawn Feazell Deshawn Feazell 6’1″ | 345 lbs | OL Moss Point | 2025 State MS was one of the best sophomore offensive linemen of last year. Feazell is a physical and nasty player who plays with a mean streak to him. It seems like every single block he makes is finished with a defender in the dirt. Feazell does a great job at getting off the ball and quickly getting his initial strike in. Due to his size, he can easily drive or down block opposing defensive linemen and take them for a ride using his natural strength. Feazell’s legs don’t stop moving on contact and he does a great job at maintaining the block through the whistle. A natural road grader, Feazell has an advanced skill set in the run game, but stands out in pass protection too. He has a powerful first punch and does a good job at mirroring defenders. Expecting this guy to add interest as the year progresses.
A 6’0″ 170 two way star, Brenn Moody Brenn Moody 6’0″ | 180 lbs | WR George County | 2025 State MS is a standout wide out and defensive back for George County. As impressive as his defensive tape is, it is hard not to love Moody’s projection on the offensive side of the football. With so much time left, he could easily end up being a defender though. At wide out, Moody is a long playmaker with great speed and burst. He has natural hands and can go up top over defenders to make some impressive leaping grabs. In the open field, Moody is impressive after the catch and is even used at wild cat quarterback on some downs. He has a hard nosed running style that makes him difficult to bring down. He currently holds no offers, but expect him to add interest during the year.
