Who are they? Let’s take a look…
Simeon Boulware Simeon Boulware 6'4" | 235 lbs | DL Dacula | 2024 State GA – Dacula
A fast-reacting defensive end with easy D1 size at 6-foot-4 230-pounds, it’s easy to see why offers have started to fly Boulware’s way after an impressive junior season. Now ranked No. 134 in the state, Boulware was one of the top defensive end or EDGE guys in Dacula’s region last season. He has the raw physical tools, but his quickness off the ball and strong motor are two big reasons why he made his debut in the Prep Redzone rankings. He gets into the backfield with ease and knows how to get after the quarterback. As good as he is getting after the passer, Boulware is also a stout run defender and a playmaker on special teams. His size, effort, and overall potential have helped him reel in offers from Vanderbilt, Memphis, Syracuse, UCF, Duke, Wake Forest, UAB, among others. In total, Boulware made 46 tackles, 10 TFLs, 9 sacks, 32 QB hurries, five blocked kicks, one forced fumble, one recovered fumble, and one touchdown. Look for him to have a giant senior season for Dacula in 2023.
Tyshon Reed Jr. – EDGE – Colquitt County
One of the hottest EDGE defenders in South Georgia right now, earning new offers this month from Northwestern, Ole Miss, Western Kentucky, Marshall, among others. A lean defender at 6-foot-3 215-pounds, the Colquitt County Packer is one of the quickest defensive lineman in all of South Georgia. He lived in the backfield last year and flashed easy D1 potential on a consistent basis. He can blow up any particular play and makes things difficult for bigger offensive tackles to block him in pass protection. Reed Jr made inly 33 tackles last season, but 10 of them came in the backfield. He can stop a drive with any big play, and the big plays can come at any point. He only got to the quarterback twice last year, but he made 14 pressures, showing he can cause some havoc against a passing attack. After an impressive junior season, Reed Jr is now ranked as the No. 108 player in Georgia in the 2024 class.
Jaiden Grimes Jaiden Grimes 6'4" | 250 lbs | DL Pope | 2024 State GA – EDGE – Pope
An under the radar defender from Cobb County who rightfully earned a new spot in the 2024 rankings, Grimes stands at 6-foot-5 250-pounds and showed a terrific motor last season for the Pope Greyhounds. He can wreck any particular play if blocked correctly and does a good job of finding his way into the backfield. He gives everything he has each play and is results into some impressive tackles where ehe runs down the ball-carrier. Now ranked at No. 194 in the state of Georgia, Grimes has D1 size and shows a high ceiling as a promising EDGE defender at the next level. He can overpower smaller offensive linemen and can power his way through blocks in the trenches. He shows quick hands and a nice swim move that allows him to get past linemen between the tackles. He has some quickness off the ball and knows how to deliver a bit hit when given an opportunity.
Ameir Glenn Ameir Glenn 6'2" | 300 lbs | DL Langston Hughes | 2024 State GA – DT – Langston Hughes
One of the top interior defensive line prospects in the Atlanta area, Glenn is a quick, powerful lineman who knows how to shed blocks and get into the backfield. He earned his new ranking after an excellent and extremely productive junior season, coming in at No. 97 in the state according to the latest update. He’s also now ranked as the No. 12 defensive line prospect in the state. He was tough to block all season from his defensive tackle position, totaling 125 tackles, 6 TFLs and three sacks last fall. He shows plenty of strength in his upper body and shows quick violent hands, making him tough to grip and drive backwards for opposing offensive linemen. At 6-foot-2 300-pounds, Glenn does a great job of playing with leverage. He gets his hands under the pads of opposing linemen and forces them backwards. He’s an excellent run defender, shooting gaps and closing running lanes. He was an impact defender and a reliable defensive lineman all year long for the 6A state champion Panthers. His recruitment is finally starting to take off this year, now holding offers from James Madison, Eastern Michigan, UCONN, Georgia State, Toledo, Liberty, among others.
