Lets go!
Isaac Butler, OL, Fargo Shanley (ND) 2024 Twitter
- Isaac’s tape pops out with solid footwork and a competitive finish, piling right on top of the defensive linemen for assurance that he won’t get to participate in the play downfield. I also like how quick Isaac fires out of the snap as demonstrates a persistent pad level especially on his angle blocks throughout the duration of his tape.
- Isaac also allows that trigger to get into the second level and cause some havoc giving his ball carrier a clear-cut anchor you are looking for from the center position. The biggest skillset I believe Isaac can develop however is his physicality of his punching ability. At 6’1 260 he certainly shows off good strength with his control, but I would love to see him grow strong with the viciousness of his punch to plant into the defender more consistently.
Luke Lorenz Luke Lorenz 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR Fargo Davies | 2024 State ND , ATH/WR/DB, Fargo Davies (ND) 2024 Twitter
- I like watching the versatility Luke brings to the table as a slot-back, as he shows off a capable route-runner that can also be utilized in the running game as well with a good sized body at 6’2 190 that can eat up some contact yards when needed. Luke also shows some twitchy change of direction as a strong safety that can cover a great range of the field and does well sealing off the edges of the field.
- Luke also shows off a well-groomed burst when he comes out of the slot on a reverse and I believe he’s just scratching the surface for how explosive that burst can be in the open field. Luke also has some clear-cut good vision that has the durability when he needs it, but when he explodes thru it he shows off some great athleticism and power in his lower body. Positionally, Luke shows off on tape as an athlete and as far as his next-level fit goes I certainly see him as a slot receiver with really good versatility to on occasion be used on the backfield, as I think there is more development brewing in Luke as a route-runner.
Nate Walz, WR, Jamestown (ND) 2025)
- Nate is certainly a first look 2025 WR prospect out of Jamestown that shows fast catch and go instincts with his burst on multiple levels of the field. That burst of Nate’s really comes thru strong especially when he gets to the second level as he can create sizable separation especially on his deeper routes. I also love this kid’s route creativity, as if his first look isn’t there he continues using his athleticism to find the space to give his QB a bigger window to throw into.
- Nate also shows an elusive quick trigger at the defensive back position as he’s quite reactive with his crossover running ability. He is certainly a WR prospect I will be adding to our Dakotas rankings database here coming out soon!
Sam Just, LB, Harrisburg (SD) 2024 Twitter
- I love the hefty motor this young man plays with regardless of which side of the field he’s on, as Sam has excellent long-range stamina that is built to last and looks like a sideline to sideline linebacker in my eyes. Sam also passes my eye test with how in-tune his read steps to the football are as he has that crashing ability to swiftly move with his quick trigger into the backfield.
- Sam also shows a very athletic bend and has some ideal linebacker measurables at 6’2 210 pounds. I love the football IQ this young man has as he certainly very consistently shows on every rep of how much of a flyer to the football he is. Certainly a scholarship-level LB in my eyes.
Joey Foxley, LB, Platte-Geddes (SD) 2024
- Joey is another LB prospect on this list that has a lot of zest in his motor, and has some outstanding physicality when he makes contact. He also shows off some great athleticism shedding off blocks as a LB prospect that can get downhill quickly to the ball carrier.
- Even offensively, Joey shows off the same flare I saw with his physicality on defense as an upfront blocker as he has a hella big punch with the ball carrier behind him. The versatility this kid brings out on tape is fun to watch and hopefully Joey can put out a highlight tape as another prospect on our Dakotas list that could certainly play at the next level in these eyes.
Brayden Oldenkamp, WR, Lyman (SD) 2025
- Brayden is one the smaller prospects on our list, but has a much bigger length with his catch radius than those measurables will tell you. I also like his field awareness as a pass-catcher as when he gets separation or is in a high traffic area, he shows off some competitive hands to watch for.
- He also has some agility in his plethora of skillsets that gets seen on tape and can make the secondary miss by allowing his footwork to get them off balance. Brayden is certainly a 2025 WR prospect to watch coming out of the Lyman Raiders.
