Johnson is a fearless hitter who really makes ball carriers pay for running near him. He has very good size for the position at 6-2, 225 lbs. I love his ability to run sideline to sideline and chase down ball carriers. He has good hands and can come down with interceptions. When Johnson blitzes he is relentless and does a great job of using his athleticism to work around blockers and get to the quarterback. West Bloomfield coaches use him on offense as a lead blocker and he does a great job of finding someone to block and getting in front of them so his teammate has a lane to run through.
#9 Kari Jackson Kari Jackson 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB West Bloomfield | 2024 State MI | LB | Hudl
Jackson is outstanding at recognizing where the play is going and then flying to the ball without hesitation. He has very good play strength and uses his upper body strength to shed blockers with ease. He is good in coverage and looks very comfortable in zone coverage. It is a lot of fun to watch him play beside Montele Johnson. These two guys are going to give opposing offenses a lot of trouble next year.
#12 Jamir Benjamin Jamir Benjamin 5'10" | 175 lbs | DB West Bloomfield | 2024 State MI | CB | Hudl
Benjamin has the versatility to play on the outside at the slot at the cornerback position. He does a good job of breaking to the inside with opposing receivers and making plays on the football. Benjamin is a good tackler who will take proper angles and ensure a good wrap-up tackle. Benjamin’s speed allows him to cover receivers for a long time. I love that he can stay with receivers on crossing routes where it is easier for receivers to get open. Benjamin plays on special teams and will get down the field in a hurry and make tackles on kickoffs and punts.
#4 Bryce Rowe | CB/WR | Hudl
Rowe has good recovery speed and can catch up to receivers if they initially get behind him on deep routes. He is a physical corner who does not make it easy for receivers to get off the line of scrimmage. Like his teammate Jamir Benjamin Jamir Benjamin 5'10" | 175 lbs | DB West Bloomfield | 2024 State MI , Rowe does a good job of breaking on receivers and creating pass breakups. He looks very comfortable in press man to man and shows good fluid hips that allow him to turn and run with receivers.
#11 Brandon Davis-Swain Brandon Davis-Swain 6'4" | 230 lbs | DL West Bloomfield | 2024 State MI | DE | Hudl
At 6-4, 230 lbs Davis-Swain moves very well. He has a very good motor who can and will run sideline to sideline. Davis-Swain’s length allows him to wrap up ball carriers with ease. I love how aggressively he crashes in on option plays. I love the recklessness that he plays with and his passion and intensity as well. His effort and play is contagious and his teammates feed off it and raise their play because of it. Davis-Swain and West Bloomfield have a legit shot at a state title next year with all the talent they have returning. I will be interested to see if more teams choose to run away from him to avoid Davis-Swain from disrupting their offense.
