Let’s take a look…
Xavier Griffin – EDGE – Gainesville
An exciting two-way player for an extremely talented Gainesville team, Griffin is a long, athletic prospect who certainly doesn’t look like your average freshman. Standing at 6-foot-4 205-pounds, Griffin has impressive ball skills and has the ability to make plays as a big receiver in the passing game. However, it looks like his potential is best suited on defense and a pass-rushing EDGe defender. He has a long frame and he’s quick off thee snap. He shows a great motor and could turn into one of the area’s top pass-rushers over the next season or two. As a freshman in 2022, he didn’t make a ton of varsity stats, but that could all change as a sophomore in 2023 right. His size, motor, and natural ability to shed blocks make him an easy breakout candidate for defenders in 6A next fall. He earned a big offer from South Florida recently and it won’t be his last.
Bryce Perry-Wright – DL – Buford
One of the top overall 2026 DL prospects in Georgia, the young Buford defender is a lean interior defensive lineman with eye-opening quickness and explosiveness off thee snap. He has “game-changing” potential from the inside and brings impressive athleticism for someone in the middle of the trenches. The Buford Wolves are loaded with young prospects, and Bryce Perry-Wright has the potential to be the next great Buford defender. He has good size with a promising frame that should allow him to ass more muscle and overall mass over the next several years. He has 5-star potential in the 2026 class and could have a gigantic season for the Wolves in 2023. He’s already a big name in thee recruiting world and earned major offers in January from Ohio State, Florida, Duke, Arkansas, Pittsburgh, among others.
Nick Burden Nick Burden 6'1" | 175 lbs | DB Dutchtown | 2026 – ATH – Dutchtown
A promising young defender south of Atlanta at Dutchtown High School, Burden is a lean, athletic cornerback who can also turn around and play receiver. The young freshman has a lean frame with long arms and natural instincts in coverage. He closes on the ball well and does a great job of breaking up passes at the last moment. He’s quick, shows good footwork, but his instincts in coverage really stand out for someone his age. He shows impressive ball skills as well, with hands that should allow him to play more on offense as a receiver in 2023. He’s one of the top young 206 prospects in the area, and he could see more offers come his way later this year. He earned his first offer recently from South Florida, and he should expect many more to come his way over time.
