As one class graduates, the next senior class becomes the primary recruiting target from college programs. The class of 2024 has previewed elite talent among its ranks with players who have proven themselves as legitimate college prospects capable of playing at the highest level.
This article will briefly examine five offensive linemen from the 2024 class who should be high on the recruiting boards, especially for the in-state programs.
Fa’apouli Jr is a monstrous tackle with elite power and an extremely high ceiling. He has quick feet and does a fantastic job at kick-stepping with a purpose while not overextending and giving the defender an easy inside gap. His hand-fighting skills and ability to win the leverage battle in one-on-one situations are impressive. He does a great job at reading the defense and recognizing stunts quickly. Fa’apouli Jr is light on his feet and has an explosive first step, helping him earn an offer from Central Michigan.
White is an explosive offensive lineman with impressive power. He is an outstanding run blocker who gets upfield with remarkable speed. His phenomenal athleticism helps him move his feet well when pulling and in pass protection. His hand strikes are well-times and delivered on target with disruptive strength. White is a highly talented lineman who plays with a dominant attitude, making him a prospect to recruit before it’s too late.
Highlights
Smith is one of the hardest-working players at any given moment on the field. He is a little undersized in height, but his understanding of the game and willingness to use his size to his advantage regarding leverage makes him one of the more formidable offensive linemen in his class. He has excellent strength and wins one-on-one battles using his leverage and well-placed hand strikes while driving his feet to remove the defender. Smith is an outstanding player with phenomenal talent who will be a steal for whichever program lands him.
Highlights
Brakemeier is an under-the-radar player with significant potential. He is quick off the line and violent upon contact, using his strength to drive opponents out of the area to create large holes for the running back to get through. His ability to use his power to pancake defenders in one-on-one situations during pass protection is awe-inspiring. Brakemeier also has good vision and awareness to pick up stunts, blitzes, and offers.
