Continue ReadingOn a weekly basis during this time of year and into March, I look into our film room to take a quick view of update highlight films we received recently. During my last visit, these recruits posted their highlight link in my Twitter thread or the recruits film was sent to my attention from a reliable source. Upon review, I break down a “bit” of what I saw from newly named recruits who were not known to me prior to watching the film and are worthy of knowing. These 5 recruits will be ranked in their respected classes when the updated 2023 rankings are published. This preview includes recruits in all classes
Nathan Goodine Nathan Goodine 5’9″ | 165 lbs | ATH Middleboro | 2024 State New E On offense, he shows the willingness to layout for the ball in any fashion to make a play. Has effective rout running abilities. Knows how to find the soft spot in zones coverages. Has good game quickness and speed. Catches the ball with his hands away from the body. On defense, He reacts to run support needs quickly. He strikes through the ball carrier with a low pad level when tackling. Overall, he plays with a motor on both sides of the ball. Appears aggressive and durable dispict his height. Has obvious athletic cooridnation. Solid Recruit.

Dante Berger Dante Berger 5’10” | 185 lbs | RB Milton Academy | 2027 New E His vision to find running lanes with the ball in his hands pops on film. He is quick and has good game speed. Has very good hands. His hips are loose and he can wiggle in and out of traffic at 1st and 2nd level play. He is productive running through the tackles. Just a freshman with time to continue developing.

Marcus Sukkar Marcus Sukkar 6’4″ | 250 lbs | DL Bishop Hendricken | 2024 State New E He tackles with a low pad level below the waist with a wrap and roll technique. Has a very good burst out of his stance that allows him to shoot gaps successfully. He defends the edge well and doesn’t over pursue while showing patience for any reverse play action. Does well chasing backside when ball is going away from him. Has a very large frame with length in his arms.

Jahsen Williams Jahsen Williams 6’0″ | 185 lbs | DB Springfield Central H.S. Ma. | 2024 State New E He can bring the juice on defense. Plays fast and with a mission. He is a striker when tackling the ball carrier. Man to man coverage skills are solid. Has above speed to chase down the ball carrier. On special team Kick off, he gets down field with a physical purpose and desire to make the play. He can close quickly on the ball carrier when attempting to turn corner. Very aggressive recruit!!!!

Anthony Shorter Anthony Shorter 5’11” | 190 lbs | ATH Watertown H.S. Ma. | 2024 State New E He plays with an aggressive skill set. As a ball carrier, he runs downhill and looks for contact to run through. He surely finishes the run with good lean and with desire. Has good strength in his upper body and uses a effective stiff arm to fend off defenders. Shows the desire to block out on the perimeter. On defense, he can fill the gaps and reacts to run quickly. Tackles with a wrap and roll technique. Seen as a solid inside defender.
