Who are some of the top tight ends in the 2024 class across Idaho? Find out here with a in-depth film breakdown and analysis!
Highlights
Bowie is a very athletic prototypical tight end that can play all over the field either in-line or out wide in the slot. He is a long and rangy kid with strong hands at the POA, good 50/50 ball skills and does a nice job at boxing out smaller defenders and is a big time red zone target. Still continuing to pack on more weight to his frame, he has solid downfield speed and is very explosive out of his stance in the run game and creating immediate vertical push. In the slot, he has a knack for finding the soft spot in zone coverage and can get in defenders blind spots before his breaks. Passing the eye test with plus athleticism, he should fit nicely at the FCS+ level in college and should see his recruitment pick up this Spring and Summer.
Highlights
Soto is a raw and still developing prospect but has elite upside due to his natural athleticism, frame and range. At over 6’5″ and 230, he could play on either side of the ball at the next level and is a no brainer FCS+ level kid. Able to stretch the field and push safeties while showing solid hands, he is very productive in the run game and finishes with toughness and aggression downfield while showing immediate inside hands and snapping out of his stance. Once he starts attending camps and showcases, he should draw more interest with his plus size and length.
Highlights
Wilkinson is another raw but still very intriguing prospect with great length and size that will only continue to grow and develop. Able to effectively stretch the field and catch underneath and turn upfield quickly, he is a smooth route runner that settles well in soft coverage and can make contested catches in traffic while creating separation downfield against linebackers. Downfield, he shows a nice second and third level burst while able to grab 50/50 balls with high point abilities/boxing out in the red zone.
Cal Huish
Cal Huish
Huish is a very athletic multi-sport kid that is just cracking the surface of his potential and has the frame to pack on more weight as he progresses through his high school career and offers some position versatility on both sides of the ball. Lining up mostly as a in line tight end, he is a excellent run blocker and has a explosive and powerful first step/strike while showing leg drive through contact and athletic enough to block in space at the second level. Always finishing his blocks and playing with some edge, he should draw college interest through next season at the D-II+ level.
