Isaac Kacmarynski Isaac Kacmarynski 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Pella Christian | 2023 IA of Pella Christian, Nick Reinicke Nick Reinicke 6'2" | 185 lbs | OL Des Moines East | 2023 IA from Dike-New Hartford and Kade McElwaine of MFL MarMac had incredible seasons on the football field for their respective teams.
All three were standouts all around the field, using their size, speed and athleticism to dominate.
First Team – Isaac Kacmarynski Isaac Kacmarynski 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Pella Christian | 2023 IA – Pella Christian – Senior
His offensive skills made headlines, but Pella Christian’s Isaac Kacmarynski Isaac Kacmarynski 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Pella Christian | 2023 IA was also dominant on the defensive side of the ball. He recorded 83 tackles with 67 solo stops and eight for loss.
Kacmarynski helped Pella Christian reach the quarterfinals. He threw for over 1,000 yards and ran for another 1,200 with 27 combined touchdowns. Both of his interceptions resulted in pick-6s and he also averaged almost 30 yards per kickoff return.
Second Team – Nick Reinicke Nick Reinicke 6'2" | 185 lbs | OL Des Moines East | 2023 IA – Dike-New Hartford – Senior
With 106 tackles, Nick Reinicke Nick Reinicke 6'2" | 185 lbs | OL Des Moines East | 2023 IA served notice against opposing offenses throughout the year. The Dike-New Hartford senior racked up 106 stops with 89 solo tackles, two sacks and 13 tackles for loss. He will take his talents to Ames and join Matt Campbell and the Iowa State Cyclones in the fall.
Third Team – Kade McElwaine – MFL MarMac – Junior
Kade McElwaine finished second in Class 1A with 108.5 tackles, with 70 of those being recorded as solo stops. He also had 21 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks for MFL MarMac, and will be back for his senior season. He showed his athleticism on offense with seven receptions for 156 yards and a touchdown.
Honorable Mention
Carson Hartz Carson Hartz 5'11" | 205 lbs | LB Columbus Catholic | 2023 IA of Waterloo Columbus, Aiden Friedow from Belmond-Klemme, Oliver Potter from Woodward-Granger and Chett Mohr of Mediapolis all had a shot at making the list. Several of those players will be back next year.
