The OAA Gold is an interesting new league. Of course, the OAA is massive, and the gold is an incredibly competitive league. This is a good league with some legit up and coming talent, and some teams trying to put things together.

Best Returner - ???

Biggest Shoes - [player_tooltip player_id='407395' first='Cordae' last='McAllister']

Ferndale was a shocking team last season. In all honesty, I didn't see them winning the Gold at all. Also, I admittedly don't have any contacts with the Ferndale Football Program, and their Hudl doesn't seem up to date. Cordae was a great receiver who made some big plays last season, while I dont doubt they have solid underclassmen ready for their time to shine. Let's see what kind of noise this program can make in the fall!

Avondale

Best Returner - [player_tooltip player_id='216986' first='Tyler' last='Herzog']

Biggest Shoes - DeShawn Robinson (or HC Corey Bell)

Whenever I watch [player_tooltip player_id='216986' first='Tyler' last='Herzog'], I'm more and more impressed by his abilities. As a freshman, he was a very competitive and firey kid. Now, he's honed that competitiveness and has significantly improved over the past year. I think he's the best QB Avondale has had in at least the past half-decade, and I hope whoever the new head coach + offensive staff can fully utilize his abilities as a pro-style QB.

This leads into biggest sheos to fill. Avondale had some great players, but DeShawn is the headliner. He was a dominant force on the O/D line and it's super difficult to replace a leader in the trenches. Also, as I touched on earlier, Corey Bell is out, and a new Athletic Director is tasked with hiring a new head coach. Corey was a good offensive-minded players coach, and all I can say is I hope Avondale makes a good hire.

Berkley

Best Returner - [player_tooltip player_id='216984' first='Sunny' last='Kadlitz']

Biggest Shoes - [player_tooltip player_id='300658' first='Savod' last='Daniels']

As Ferndale was the biggest surprise of this league, Berkely was the biggest disappointment. This team straight-up couldn't put anything together. Savoid Daniels was a great (and rare) Running Back that will be sorely missed. They also have some key losses in the trenches. Now, Sunny is their best (and surely most experienced) returner. I haven't seen the progression I wished to see over the past few seasons, but I know there's a great QB waiting to come out.

Royal Oak

Best Returner - Anthony Garcia (RB)

Biggest Shoes - [player_tooltip player_id='409674' first='Mekhi' last='Jenkins'] (RB)

[player_tooltip player_id='409674' first='Mekhi' last='Jenkins'] graduating is awfully concerning for Royal Oak. The CMU commit was by far the best and most talented athlete from the Ravens, and replacing him is a huge task. Anthony Garcia is a good RB, but I don't. have a D1 grade on him. I hope to see a resurgence in Royal Oak football.

Pontiac

Best Returner - ???

Biggest Shoes - ???

Pontiac hasn't won a game in ages, and I truly hope they return to prominance. Grand Rapids Union was a team in a very similar situation a few years ago, then reknowned head coach Don Fellows joined the program and things are truly turning around. I hope something similar happens with Pontiac.
