Peters was a freight train for an Escalon team that won a lower level state championship in 2022.
He is tough to bring down and has the field vision to make a cut after breaking a tackle. He is a between the tackles runner in a system with a lot of fly motions and misdirections.
The level of competition Escalon played may be scaring some colleges off, but his strength and motor can play at the college level.
Peters has no offers but I think he would be a steal for a lower level college program.
Samples moved up the recruiting rankings a lot last offseason and at the end of his junior. He battled injuries his senior season but still showed flashes of a quality college running back.
He is one of the fastest guys on this list and often hits the hole faster than linebackers can react.
Samples has offers from Grambling State, Morgan State and Warner.
Shaw can do a bit of everything and Adelanto found unique ways to use his talents.
He sometimes lined up as a split receiver, threw touchdown passes but was most often used as a running back in 32 personnel. He has plus speed and is always looking to make a big play.
Shaw has eight offers including Nevada, Morgan State and Northern Arizona among others.
Thompson was one of the best running backs in San Diego this season and is definitely the best one still available.
He is an excellent athlete who reads his blocks well at the line of scrimmage and can run inside and outside the tackles. He also returned punts and played corner at Mira Mesa.
Thompson has offers from Adams State, San Diego and Black Hills State.
Turner transferred to St. Francis from Allen in Texas and was one of the top runners in Southern California in 2022.
He is so fluid as a runner and can maintain his speed while cutting. He has good forward lean and is at the line of scrimmage before linebackers at the second level can react.
Turner is the best available running back in the state. He has double-digit offers including Colorado, UNLV and Washington State among others.
