I can’t wait to see the ones I haven’t witnessed firsthand, in person. Let’s take a quick view at who this class has to offer at running back.
Alvin Henderson Alvin Henderson 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Elba | 2025 State AL – RB – Elba HS
Henderson has outstanding play strength, particularly through the hips and legs. Forces defenders to bring their base with them, scoffing at arm tackles. Contact balance extraordinaire, thanks in large part to consistent pad level. Uncanny ability to drop his weight and contort his body through gaps.
Anthony Rogers Anthony Rogers 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB Bradenton IMG Academy | 2025 State FL – RB – Pike Road HS / @AnthonyRogers_K
Rogers uses remarkable acceleration to hit the second level of the defense. Competitive toughness on constant display, plunging into the teeth of the defense in search of every yard. Productive stiff-arm that displaces would-be tacklers. Rogers using quickness and balance to dodge defenders.
Tristan Childers Tristan Childers 5'11" | 200 lbs | RB Boaz | 2025 State AL – RB – Boaz HS / @tc2smoove
Childers shows a powerful stiff arm, successfully bounces his runs outside at a high rate for a player his size, and carries a ton of momentum as a runner. Childers almost always finishes plays falling forward. His contact balance and play strength are on the high end of the spectrum for running backs in his class. While he is patient behind the line of scrimmage, Childers knows when to get north to south in a hurry.
Santae McWilliams Jr Santae McWilliams Jr 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Saraland | 2025 State AL Jr – RB – Saraland HS / @santae_jr
McWilliams displays excellent burst with a viable top speed that leads to big plays. He has steady hands as a ball carrier and pass catcher. He’s a very patient and creative runner who displays the ability to vary his pace and manipulate defenders. McWilliams has the lateral agility to bounce between gaps, redirect without much pause, and execute lateral movements in the open field.
Luke Tarver – RB – Chambers Academy
Tarver has initial quickness and footwork shine, especially given his nice frame. Easy sightlines that he leverages into correct gaps for gains. Sees the cutback and has the agility to hit it and go. Tarver has a nice frame that drags defenders and wears down defenses over the course of a game. His mixture of quickness and power allocates yards in both gap and zone run plays.
