The 2025 defensive line class is already producing some big names in Omaha North star Tyson Terry Tyson Terry 6'2" | 270 lbs | DL Omaha North | 2025 State NE and Lincoln Southeast edge monster Pierre Allen Jr Pierre Allen Jr 6'3" | 215 lbs | DL Lincoln Southeast | 2025 State NE . with several more names yet to emerge.
Let’s look at four under-the-radar defensive linemen that you should add to your watchlist ASAP!!!
Cameron Bell Cameron Bell 6'0" | 280 lbs | DL Omaha Westside | 2025 State NE | Omaha Westside | 6’0″ 280 lbs
One of the more underrated transfers for the Warriors last offseason was defensive tackle Cameron Bell Cameron Bell 6'0" | 280 lbs | DL Omaha Westside | 2025 State NE . Bell played a key role in the Warrior’s interior defensive line. He finished the season with 40 tackles and 4 tackles for loss, with his impact far surpassing the stat sheet. Cam does an excellent job stuffing the inside run lanes and forcing running backs to hesitate, and giving his LBs a chance to make a stop at/near the LOS. Bell is developing into a player you have to double up because he can eat up 1-on-1s with his power and explosiveness. He has a powerful anchor that he is hard to move off of once he’s decided to set his base. Cam would be considered “undersized,” but I think this gives him a natural leverage advantage he knows how to capitalize on very well. With two more years to develop in the Warrior system, we could see Cam turn into a highly-touted prospect by his senior year.
Landon Sobota Landon Sobota 6'4" | 300 lbs | DL Ashland-Greenwood | 2025 State NE | Ashland-Greenwood | 6’4″ 300 lbs
Ashland-Greenwood’s Landon Sobota Landon Sobota 6'4" | 300 lbs | DL Ashland-Greenwood | 2025 State NE started making plays for the Blue Jays as a freshman and continued to do so as a two-way standout in his sophomore season. Landon is a beast on the defensive line that can use his size and strength to overpower blockers. He moves very well for his size and can be a bulldozer when he gains momentum. Whether he’s making contact as a defensive lineman or a blocker, Landon can explode through his first punch to rock his opponents. I really like Landon’s tenacity on the field, he’s always all gas, full effort, and motor running like crazy. Very good player to watch in the upcoming years!
Andrew Meduna Andrew Meduna 6'4" | 235 lbs | DL Bishop Neumann | 2025 State NE | Bishop Neumann | 6’4″ 225 lbs
Andrew was a player that stepped up for the Cavaliers last season. He played a 1-tech defensive tackle and ended up totaling 35 tackles, four tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and a blocked kick. My biggest takeaway from Andrew’s tape was the number of hustle plays he had. Meduna has an intense motor and you’ll often see him chasing scrambling QBs, making tackles 10-20 yards downfield, and that effort spills over to the other phases of the game. He uses his hands very well and can disengage from blocks with ease. We got to see a bit more of Andrew’s skills at the Stock Up showcase, where he looked solid in 1v1 reps. Expect Andrew to continue being an impact player in the trenches for a while.
Cole Erickson Cole Erickson 6'4" | 225 lbs | DL Lincoln Southwest | 2025 State NE | Lincoln Southwest | 6’3″ 215 lbs
The Silver Hawks say goodbye to a very talented senior group that featured several starters. However, ready to step up are exciting young players like Cole who looks like he’s ready to do some damage. Cole saw varsity time in his sophomore season but was mainly a rotational piece on the defensive line. Cole ended the season with 33 tackles and three tackles for loss. When he did get on the field, I saw a player with violent hands and hips who can fire off at the snap. He is a lengthier, leaner defensive end, but he’s very good at using his long arms to create separation at the line. Cole has great upper body strength and can be seen throwing defenders off of him. He was one of the top DL performers at the Stock Up Showcase with a 5.07 40-yard time, 4.82 Shuttle, 7.63 L-drill, and 8’11” broad jump. Erickson is a player that Silver Hawk fans should get excited about.
