Physical is the word that comes to mind when you think of the type of player that Oden is. It constantly shows up on film that he is going to be the one who creates contact. Has good speed in the open field that allows him to make impact plays all over the field. Solid open field tackler who doesn’t miss very often when attacking players in space. Shows a very quick trigger in the run game that allows him to make tackles in the back field and is strong enough in his lower half to take on pullers stopping them in their tracks. Runs his feet very well on contact and always finishes his tackles with great form. Really has a high motor as he plays both ways for Wendell. He is really a plus athlete with good size and speed but shows a high football IQ as he is always in the right spot. Right now he projects out at the NAIA, D3 and D2 levels but dont be surprised if he is a sleeper in someone’s class. Should have a huge senior year!
Logan Clark
Logan Clark
Clark is your prototype hybrid defender who bring enough toughness and athleticism to the OLB position but is really more of a defensive back who is a great tackler that you can add to the box. With the ability to cover in space and come up to support the run. In the new breed of football it’s important to have a Rover that can really act as a pseudo outside linebacker and Clark fits that bill to a T. He has a quick trigger in the run game which allows him to make plays on the football along with a innate toughness to mix it up between the tackles. Uses his quickness to slip blocks instead of having to take on players twice his size. Is excellent in coverage where he shows the ability to cover slot receivers, tight ends and running backs in a variety of different ways. Has really good hands as he can make a play on the ball in the air and come down with interceptions. Post Falls has a stud on their hands and it would be a surprise to hear his name called frequently during games next year.
Aaron Martinez
Aaron Martinez
Martinez is not the biggest defensive lineman but he plays with a ton of energy and is all over the field. He uses a variety of moves in order to get to the quarterback. Has a really good spin move that allows him to beat offensive lineman and a quick first step. Strong punch that creates separation at the line of scrimmage and allows him to make plays in the backfield. His motor is unmatched as he constantly makes splash play because of his effort on the football field. Holds the edge of the defense well and turns plays back inside to the linebackers to make tackles. Can’t say enough about the energy and passion he plays with, you can see how much he loves the game of football.
Ryan Bingham
Ryan Bingham
Bingham is a monster on the edge with a strong punch that creates a ton of separation at the line of scrimmage. He uses his lower body strength to get knock backs that lead to tackles for loss. Has a really quick first step and a fast get off that allows him to be in the backfield quickly. Has a really strong bull rush and rip that gets him to the quarterback. Strong in his upper body that allows him to hold his ground and set the edge of the defense. High motor player that plays with passion and energy on every snap. Really looking forward to seeing more from Bingham this year. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in the conversation for honors after its all said and done. Really has been impressive to watch on film.
