Continue ReadingCoach Steven Warren and his crew at Warren Academy hosted several top prospects and unsigned seniors on Sunday. Warren Academy held a showcase with the goal to help in-state (and nearby state) prospects gain more exposure in front of college coaches. The showcase featured a group of seniors that were looking to get in front of some more eyes before signing day and 9-11 graders wanting to jumpstart their recruitment.
Here I highlight some of the seniors that tore it up on Sunday. All seniors listed are unsigned.
Jack Allen Jack Allen 6'2" | 245 lbs | DL Aurora | 2023 State NE | DL | Aurora | 6’2″ 250 lbs
– Explosive, physical defensive lineman that plays with an intense motor.
– Jack moves really well, has quick feet, and has a great short-area burst.
– Jack uses his hands and power very well. Make solid, impactful contact with his first strike.
– He generates a lot of power from his first step and can fly out of his stance.
– Two-way starter for one of the top teams in Class B/C1.
Cole Reilly Cole Reilly LB Lincoln Lutheran | 2023 State NE | LB | Lincoln Lutheran | 6’1″ 212 lbs
– Cole was a tackling machine for the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors
– 108 tackles, six tackles for loss, an interception, 200 rushing yards, 361 receiving yards, four receiving touchdowns, and two rushing touchdowns. BALLER!!
– Good frame and size to play at the next level.
– He has loose hips that allow him to move laterally and north/south very well.
– High IQ player that can command a defense.
Armani Levering Armani Levering 6'0" | 220 lbs | LB Omaha North | 2023 State NE | LB | Omaha North | 6’1″ 220 lbs
– Huge upside player that will make an impact at the next level.
– Big, “thumper” LB frame that packs a punch when he makes contact.
– Pretty athletic for a bigger guy and moves better than you would expect.
– He also proved to be an asset in pass coverage for the Vikings. Can get depth in his zones and reacts quickly to his reads.
– 36 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and an interception while playing in a deep LB rotation at North.
Tyson Boganowski Tyson Boganowski 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Gretna | 2023 State NE | WR/DB | Gretna | 5’10” 175 lbs
– Very underrated and overlooked athlete.
– Tyson ran drills with the receivers and defensive backs and could play either position in college. Just get him on the field.
– Very shifty, quick player that can dominate as a slot receiver or clamp onto a slot receiver and mirror them all day.
– Great instincts around the ball. Reliable hands as a receiver and can make catches through contact. On defense, he had some nice breakups in 1v1s.
– 65 receptions, 668 receiving yards, seven receiving touchdowns, and an interception on defense.
– Been watching this guy since the summer. Straight-up grinder!
Colin Sims Colin Sims 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Gretna | 2023 State NE | WR | Gretna | 6’2″ 190 lbs
– Big-bodied receiver that can go up and high-point the ball.
– Sims uses his length very well, making great “hands” catches outside his frame.
– Even for a bigger receiver, Colin is very sudden and is sharp when breaking off from his route.
– He can lose you in coverage and does a good job using route concepts to get open.
– Tough through the catch point, and his size makes him tough to bring down after he’s secured the ball.
– 30 receptions, 342 receiving yards, and three touchdowns.
Tate Hug Tate Hug 6'1" | 205 lbs | RB Auburn | 2023 NE | LB | Auburn | 6’1″ 195 lbs
– This guy is an ATHLETE! Could play on offense or defense in college.
– Tate was a standout at the Stock Up Showcase a month ago and won LB MVP honors. He continued to bump his stock at the WA showcase.
– Reactive LB that can cut and change directions very quickly.
– Very impressive 36″ inch vertical.
– 57 tackles, three tackles for loss on defense. 1,131 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns on defense.
Brandon Ashley Brandon Ashley 5'9" | 185 lbs | ATH Omaha Benson | 2023 State NE | ATH | Omaha Benson | 5’9″ 187 lbs
– Brandon is another player that can play various positions at the next level, either DB or RB.
– He ran with the DBs on Sunday and looked good in drills.
– He’s a tough player that can take contact as a runner and stay upright.
– Still a raw player but has shown several flashes of potential and is a hard worker on the field.
