Elliot Jamison- The First Academy
5’10 200bs
Jamison was a leader of a very talented First Academy defense that led the way for the Royals to finish the regular season 8-3 and a spot in the state playoffs. Jamison had a heck of a season finishing with 91 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 2 ints, and 2 forced fumbles! He was invited to play in the Blue-Grey All American Bowl in Tampa, and picked up an offer this month from Benedictine University. He’s an outstanding student with a 3.88 GPA.
Strengths:
- Processes information quickly
- Plays under control and doesn’t get caught out of position
- Old School style linebacker between the tackles
Justin Leivas Justin Leivas 5'11" | 200 lbs | LB Land O Lakes | 2023 FL – Land O’Lakes High
5’11 225lbs
Leivas was part one of the best linebacking cores in Pasco County this season. Leivas finished the season with 77 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery. He was a big part of a stout defense that helped the Gators to a 9-2 record and a spot in the state playoffs this season.
Strengths:
- Good open field tackler
- Athletic enough to play out in space
- Flashes good physicality
Joshua Poleon- Wesley Chapel High
5’11 200lbs
Poleon has been one of the best linebackers in the Pasco County area for the last two seasons. This season he was selected first team All Conference, and was up for defensive player of the year in 2021. Over the last few seasons he has registered over 180 tackles and 39 tackles for loss. This season he was a major bright spot for Wesley Chapel tallying 85 tackles, an outstanding 18.5 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble. He picked up his first offer from Wittenberg University in December.
Strengths:
- Instinctive and physical
- Sheds blocks and fills the hole with authority
- Good quickness
Dwann McCray- Crystal River High
6’2 195lbs
McRae was outstanding this season for Crystal River. He was a two-way player for the Pirates and could play on either side of the ball the next level. Hold offense you rushed for 310 yards and one touchdown, also added four catches for 36 yards. On defense is really where he made his mark registering 132 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, one sack, and 2 forced fumbles. He averaged over 13 tackles a game and was nominated for defensive player of the year. He was a 2022 All-Chronicle selection it was selected to the FCA Suncoast All-Star game.
Strengths:
- Acceleration to the ball
- Sure tackler
- Quickness allows them to split blocks and get into the backfield
